Welcome to Rocky Raccoon, a tranquil retreat nestled in the serene mountain setting of Idyllwild. This vintage chalet-style cabin blends rustic coziness with modern comforts. Relax on the spacious front deck with sweeping views of pines and a peek-a-boo view of Lily Rock, perfect for birdwatching.
Inside, high, open-beamed pine ceilings and a wood-burning fireplace create a cozy atmosphere. A sliding door opens to the deck, offering seamless indoor-outdoor living. The outdoor space features new seating, a dining area, and a luxurious hot tub.
The main level includes a cozy living room, a quaint kitchen, and a bedroom with a King-sized bed, along with a full bathroom. Upstairs, the loft bedroom offers tree-top views and another King-sized bed. This cottage-style cabin with a spa, fireplace, and telescope is perfect for unwinding or exploring nature.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE BOOKING:

This vacation rental is not equipped with air-conditioning.
-Cancellations: Bookings canceled at least 60 days before the start of the stay will receive a full refund, with a $150.00 cancellation charge. Bookings canceled at least 30 days before the start of the stay will receive a 50% refund plus a $150.00 cancellation charge.
No Cancellations are Allowed for November, December, and January.
- Pets: We do allow dogs, however, please note that there is a fee of $35 per dog per night. If you plan to bring more than one dog, you must obtain prior approval and additional fees may apply. When booking through selected third-party sites such as Airbnb, once your booking is confirmed, you will receive a payment request for the dog fee, which should be paid separately.
- Check-in instructions: Please check in at the main office.
Parking: Free parking is available for 2 vehicles (Seasonal Restrictions Apply; chains are recommended in winter, and 4X4 is HIGHLY Recommended).
- Outdoor lighting: Please note that outdoor lighting must comply with Riverside County regulations and must not blink, flash, or rotate. Guests will be held liable for any "light trespass" on surrounding properties.

- Rental agreement: Please review our rental agreement for our house rules. You will receive an emailed version to sign, but if you prefer other options, please inquire.
- Age restrictions: Due to the new County of Ordinance 927.2: We no longer accept reservations for anyone under 21 years of age.
- Seasonal wood delivery: If available, there is a $25 fee per bundle (approximately 20 pieces). Please provide at least 5 days' notice for a Friday arrival date or at least 3 days' notice for any other day of the week. Please note that there are no refunds for this service.
- Confirmation: Upon booking this property through Airbnb, New Spirit Vacation Homes will send you a direct email confirming your reservation. Attached to this confirmation will be a contract you need to review, sign, and send back within 24 hours.
- Incidentals: We reserve the right to request payment for any incidentals. This includes but is not limited to firewood, pet fees, special occasion requests, personal grocery drop-offs, pay-per-view movies or sporting events, and damaged property.
Guests booking this home under the age of 25 years of age will provide an additional insurance for $70.00 non-refundable on the day of arrival.

The beds are soft and comfortable and the hot tub is a nice plus! The driveway is quite steep though to beware in rainy or icy weather.

Summary: My husband and I went to the cabin and they said you need four-wheel-drive to get up the driveway but that driveway is dangerous. I wouldn’t recommend ever going up that driveway when we entered the property we noticed and extensive amount of dust debris, dead bugs. There was no coffee, tea or sugar in the containers. I have breathing problems so I had to spend the majority of the time outside or in the back of the house where there was less dust I would not recommend this nor will we ever rebook at this location.

Summary: It only has one bathroom. That's fine, it's what we expected. But when we got out of the hot tub to rinse the chemicals off our body, we discovered that the cold water knob in the shower was loose and non-functioning. This meant that to shower, we had to perfectly time a 15-second window before the water became scalding hot, making bathing impossible.Unfortunately we noticed this problem the evening we checked in, New Years Eve. All of the hardware stores on the mountain were closed for the next 48 hours. I raised the issue to the attention of the property manager, described the problem, and the property manager sent out a maintenance person the following day. There was nothing he could do. The tub needed a new faucet valve, and that would have to wait until the hardware store opened, after we checked out the following day.This made it impossible for us to bathe for our entire stay. We were upset. We asked to be moved to a different property, or for a full or at least partial refund so we could leave and check in at a hotel elsewhere, and our request was left unanswered until after dark. Their reply was to have the maintenance man to return and leave us a wrench so we could open the faucet valve ourselves to shower. They claimed ignorance to this problem previously existing, then we saw that someone had complained about this issue in a VRBO review one month prior to our stay. We have been offered no refund, or discount on future stays with this company. Avoid.

Summary: My wife and I spent our honeymoon here and we absolutely loved it!!! Everything was so clean and the cabin was so cute and beautiful. The fireplace was definitely a beautiful thing to have during our romantic time. And the firewood delivery service was amazing. Thanks to the hosts for being so responsive during our stay and helping us with any questions we had they were so accommodating to us and we would definitely recommend this cabin to anybody looking to get away for a nice time... Super close to town and easy to find..

Reviewer Comments: The check in process was a little delayed since they sent instructions via text instead of talking to someone in the office. The service can be spotty up there so I don’t blame the rental company. The cabin was close to the town center which was nice. But that does mean your neighbors are close and you’ll hear people talking if you leave the windows open. The couch and living room were cozy and we were able to utilize the fireplace during our stay. The beds and dining room chairs however were lumpy, hard and uncomfortable. The shower wouldn’t drain but the restroom was clean (they said they’d fix that issue but I hadn’t told them till I checked out). Felt a little unsafe using the hot tub in the evening since there were no outside lightbulbs. There was a weird smell in the kitchen I couldn’t put my finger on but it didn’t really affect my stay since we didn’t do that much cooking. It is a pretty cabin and was clean. Overall not a bad stay if you’re trying to get out for a weekend.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The photos posted are not a true representation of the house. The house is in sad shape and the deck is worse, I think it's ready to be torn down it is so rickety and splintery. Didn't want to sit in any of the chairs they (both upholstered and plastic) were dirty with bird droppings. I sat in a dining room chair and almost fell through! Sad to say it is the most unpleasant VRBO experience we have ever had. Manager tried to help but we were only there for 2 nights and survived. The hot tub was hot but everything else was so unpleasant we were afraid to use it.
