Positive: Everything. The hospitality from Sheesa and Kuwa is wonderful - we were made to feel like friends from the start. Great conversations and they gave us terrific tips on where to explore. Rooms are comfortable, the nightly sauna/hot tub was a great way to end the day. Not enough words to complement the food. Breakfasts are healthy and filling. Dinners were superb. No need to drive into Biei or Asahikawa. Seriously. Well located between Biei and Asahidake and 20 minutes from Asahikawa airport. Stayed 5 nights and was sad to leave.

Positive: I absolutely loved my stay at Ronenai Base. The hospitality from Sheesa and Kuwa was exceptional - at the end of my stay, I felt like I was leaving the house of a friend's. Some of the (many!!) highlights included: being only a 20mins drive from Asahikawa airport; got recommendations for sights to see, & places to visit; had daily brekkie which was Japanese or Western style & there was a dinner option if advanced notice is given to the hosts; the futon was comfortable bed; and, there was a sauna which I could use on a daily basis. It was such a relaxing week for me! Looking forward to staying here the next time I'm in Biei. Thanks again to Sheesa and Kuwa :)

Positive: Cool hosts! They were welcoming and prepared delicious breakfast and dinner everyday. They also took time to chat and gave us some good recommendations. The lodge is newly renovated and tastefully furnished.
