Positive: The location is "in the woods." So if you want to get away, it's great. However, be prepared for bugs as any woods place has. Water access is awesome, The scenery is awesome of the water. The place has many opportunities for improvement to make it an awesome escape. For the price, it was a good getaway. I would rent it again.
Negative: The neighbors had dogs that came by and acted shy but loved to get into the trash. Then there were strange guys coming by using the area access to the water, which was strange when I thought it was for the cabin. About the old smell, well it's there but can be taken care of by use of candles so no big deal. Just a suggestion to the owners, if the rugs & curtains were washed regularly and the wood walls & cabinets wiped down with orange oil, that would remove the old smell. If a few updates and repairs were done, like the recliners replaced since 1 is broken, the boards on the deck need help, then add celling fans in the main room, then it would be really good. I could see paying more for it if the small repairs and updates were done.

Positive: We LOVED the scenery, the layout, the ease of getting into the lake and being able to grill outside. The host was super helpful and was willing to go above and beyond when the AC wasn't working properly. They came to work on it while we were gone and even offered to bring extra window units back and set them up.
Negative: It took a really long time to get into town from the property. We didn't completely mind, but I wish I would have known ahead of time that it's a good 20 mins. into town to even get to a Dollar General.
Summary: It was wonderful and we'd stay again!

Positive: The lake is so close..able to watch sunset and sunrise..canoes and kayaks on property to use..all kitchen pans avaliable..
Negative: Ok...so for the pice I can over look . That it's not modern... nothing matches(no theme)... Have no clue if tv works cause we were busy going to see waterfalls 40 minutes away and in the lake with kayak..so don't expect to watch tv..and plumbing was on septic tank..so plumbing acted up our day we were leaving..but all things that can be overlooked...and I could see if it was warmer..how bugs might be issue..so bring bug spray...and candles. . The house has an old smell...which like I say, for the price can be overlooked...cause amazing veiws
