# Originally built as a barn in the 1800's, this adventure lodge has been fully restored down to the finest detail, with the original barn beams and wooden interior remaining just as they were back in the frontier days. Lodge on the Lake sleeps 12 in beds and sits on 20 private acres with something to offer every sportsmen or recreationist. Enjoy the private spring-fed lake stocked with bass, catfish, bluegill and trout. Kayaks are tethered to a dock that sits off a private beach with real sand. The Lodge is just a short walk from 200,000 acres of premier public hunting at Wayne National Forest. If you want more adventure, the Lodge is just 20 minutes from an amazing public ATV trail system (75miles!) at Dorr Run. All this plus the majestic scenic attractions of Hocking Hills! Summary: Loved the property beautiful place will definitely be back. Only down side is the charcoal grills are very small not big enough for as many people that can stay. A much larger charcoal grill or large Blackstone would be a very nice addition to this amazing property.

Summary: My grandsons love to fish. When I saw this property, I knew it would be perfect. The boys weren’t there five minutes and had their poles in hand. They enjoyed fishing from the kayaks and tho they didn’t catch anything of size, they landed several small mouth bass and had plenty of bites. The lake was beautiful! We also enjoyed making pizza pie irons over the campfire, having a corn hole tournament and playing Shanghai Rummy. The highlight tho was my granddaughter said yes when her fellow proposed. There wasn’t a dry eye in the lodge! We did have a plumbing issue but it was promptly handled by the owner and a couple of professional plumbers.. Overall, it was a great weekend.

Summary: great place for group, we have stayed here twice with a group of 11, 10 to 65 years old. plenty to do or not do if you choose. we especially like the fishing , the fish are very willing to be caught, we caught a large mouth bass, probably 24" long. kayaks and paddleboard are a big favorite of our entire group

Summary: We just spent a Friday and Saturday night at this property with 6 adults and a 6-year old. We had a blast! The property had so much to offer - we loved kayaking and playing in the lake and on the beach, fishing and sitting by the huge firepit. We spent both nights listening to the wild life. You definitely want to bring bug spray. The beach and lake were both clean and the grass surrounding the property was well-maintained so that you could walk around the lake without wading through tall grass. The house itself was clean and offered plenty of space. There was actually 3 bathrooms which was a pleasant surprise (haha). The beds were all comfortable and the house was equipped with several ceiling fans which helped with the unseasonably warm April weather. The kitchen had everything you could need: pots and pans, dishes, random spices, Mr. Coffee, a griddle, etc. The wifi was strong enough for my kid to stream on a tablet at night. Helpful hints to visitors: (1) the fish near the shore are on the smaller side so bring small hooks. They loved hotdogs with salt and garlic. (2) You co-exist with stinkbugs here. If you're not familiar with them they are harmless, disease-free and non-destructive. Do not smoosh them. Just catch them in your hand and toss them outside. (3) vehicle GPS died before cell phone GPS so plan accordingly. My family is already talking about trying to book another trip to this location in the Fall.

Summary: We really enjoyed the space, grounds, and location. Check-in was as simple as could be, and the interior was wonderfully spacious with comfy beds enough to sleep 12. The hot tub was excellent and functioned well (though be cautious entering/exiting during cold months — the deck freezes over around the tub). A few minor cleanliness issues upon arrival in the master bathroom, but overall a very lovely property. Connecting to the Wi-Fi gave all of our guests issues, as the network name you’re instructed to join within the check-in materials doesn’t work.

Summary: Overall very satisfied with the stay. Accurate listing. Clean. Plenty of towels and everything we needed. Plenty of space for us to hangout both inside and outside. Only downside was wifi did not work well so communication with outside world was difficult, but it did allow us to unplug for a few days so blessing in disguise.
