The lodge at Kings Country has been handcrafted utilizing many elements harvested from the farm. Located just 4 miles off the Bluegrass Parkway, the location is ideal for families and groups that want to explore the Bourbon Trail! The stone for the fireplace ,the barnwood siding, the hickory cabinets and cedar lined walls are just part of the experience created by hand using sustainable methods.
With over 4000 sq ft of spacious comfortable living space , there is room for up to sixteen people. Sleeping arrangements include 3 br with 5 double and 6 single beds.
Over 500 acres of country living to enjoy including hiking, fishing or viewing some of our abundant wildlife. Or simply relax and enjoy the view of the bison and lake from the deck. Check in time is 3 pm and check-out is 11.
RV hook up is available for $30 night. 30 amp electric and water- no sewer or dump station.

Summary: From the moment we arrived we knew we were in a special place. Spacious yet cozy home,, beautiful gardens and areas to hang out and relax, stunning sunrise views. I could go on and on. Mostly, Steve was so good at communicating with us and responding to us when we reached out. Bottom line - we highly recommend Steve’s place and hope to return!

Summary: The property is just gorgeous! Nothing to see or hear, but nature. Our group had people from 21 - 69 and there was something for everyone to do. You could sit on the porch or deck and enjoy the view, play cornhole or horseshoes, relax in the hot tub, fishing, exploring on the ATV, play with Ranger (the dog), and plenty of other options. My husband is already talking about booking this property again.

Summary: This rustic but very modern, spacious, well cared for and beautifully appointed cabin sits on a vast spectacular piece of property. The reason I gave “accuracy of listing” only 4 stars is because this gem is even more amazing than the listing…one truly has to experience this place to appreciate it fully…it is amazing!

Summary: As others have said, the location is rural but not too far out from the Bourbon trail and Bardstown. Incredible property and acreage. Comfortable house and well stocked with everything you'll need. We're already thinking about a return trip!

Summary: King's Country is a working farm/ranch about 20 minutes outside of Bardstown, KY. At first I was worried the distance to distilleries/activities would be an issue, but this is definitely not the case. Makers Mark, Bardstown Bourbon Company, Heaven Hill, and others all within 40 minutes of this house. The amenities of this property are incredible and my one regret is that we did not have time to do everything we wanted to do. I hope I can stay here again. The host is always available to answer questions and was easy to contact. I would like to share more, but some things are best left to be discovered.

Summary: This was one of the most amazing properties we’ve had the privilege of renting through VRBO! We were lucky enough to meet the owner, Steve and you could tell this was going to be special. His love of wildlife, his home, his gardens and woodworking was not lost on us. His home is on about 400 acres of hills, forest, meadow, a stream and wonderful trails to see wildlife including deer, turtles, turkey and diverse songbirds, not to mention a bison farm visible from the cozy back porch. Our group of 3 couples in our 50’s-60’s appreciated all of it and could have easily stayed a full week had work schedules permitted it! The location was perfect for visiting great bourbon distilleries in Bardstown and Lexington. It is also about 1/2 hour from Versailles, where we visited an amazing family owned horse farm, where they raise stunning Thoroughbreds. We really loved coming back to such a cozy, welcoming ‘home,’ in which we could grill out, play euchre and enjoy the sunsets! This would clearly be a wonderful spot for 1 or more families w/ children as well as groups who appreciate and enjoy observing and / or hunting wildlife and adults who wish to visit bourbon distilleries and horse farms. We are so grateful to have made so many wonderful memories and thank you, Steve for sharing your precious land and beautiful home w/ us!!
