Positive: Absolutely stunning ryokan experience. Location was secret but accessible. Facilities/room was amazing. We had a private bath and it was just so peaceful. We also booked a private onsen time because I have tattoos and the private onsen was breathtaking. The kaseki dinner and breakfast were amazing (though a little intimidating, so maybe know a bit about traditional Japanese food before trying - we were beginners and felt like were were out of our depth).

Negative: Honestly the only thing I would want to do before going back is know more Japanese and understand kaseki better since our own ignorance was the only thing that effected our stress while there!

Positive: We had a great stay here - it was a little pricey but the private onsen on our balcony was worth it. The public onsen was also very nice and the “secret” onsen in the woods was also amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a shuttle bus from Kameoka station.

Positive: My mom and I had such a wonderful stay here. The staff was so accommodating and attentive. We booked a room with a private onsen and it was perfect. Dinner and breakfast was so good every morning and they even went above and beyond for my mom's gluten allergy.

Positive: The property was thoughtfully and eloquently situated from the moment we pulled up. We were thoughtfully greeted and shown around the facilities, which was particularly helpful since this was our first time visiting a ryokan. The Japanese tatami room we booked was beautiful and spacious, the private hot springs bath beautifully situated with views of the hillside.
