Positive: The staff is very friendly and the breakfast buffet that was included in our stay was generous and varied. The pool and yoga areas are picturesque and very well set up for photo opportunities. The view from the property is lovely as it's along the waterfront. There was also an offering of on-site yoga (payment being extra) that was convenient. If you like people, there seemed to be a variety of young folks coming on site to enjoy the pool and restaurant.

Negative: On the Booking.com site, it said this property had air conditioning -- this was false, THERE IS NO AIR CON. The walls of the bedroom did not reach the roof -- there is a space at the top which is cut out and covered in mesh, making a makeshift small window. I understand the natural cooling aspect of this, but this place should not be marketed as having A/C. Also, because of this window, the rooms are NOT SOUND-PROOF. Upon check-in, we were handed soft earplugs, which I was confused about, but quickly understood later, because my room was right across from the pool, which made it really loud at night when music was playing from the restaurant area and sometimes from the beach area outside the property. The electricity flickered waxed and waned in power when we were there, which made it difficult to see in the evenings.

Summary: Not exactly a "resort" in the traditional sense, but nice if you don't mind some noise and no A/C

Positive: Beautiful view. Close walk to bars-restaurants.

Negative: Very loud. We always stayed in room 14 which was right by the walk way and public bathrooms. You could hear every conversation all night and day long. If you stay at the pool front private rooms be prepared for everyone to check themselves out in the mirrored walls. It was very uncomfortable.

Negative: The resort was nice but it could have used many upgrades. The pool was a little dirty and it was cold water. The room had a cracked tile on the floor where you could cut and hurt yourself. The tub clogged up and there was a big air bubble in it so when you showered you rocked from side to side. The floors both inside and outside the room where super extremely slippery when wet. Our party almost slipped a few times. Everytime it rained the outside area of our room with seats and a cover/roof would flood so we weren't able to even sit outdoor or use that space if it was raining. The rooms are located on different levels so be prepared to carry all your luggage down the steps. The staff working there were nice however the management was awful. Our group had a long stay and not once did they interact with us. They never asked us how things were going or even a hello or good morning. However there were other groups of large people who seemed to know management that were not staying at our resort but they would eat breakfast there everyday and use the pool and management was always chatting and catering to them. They were not very hospitable. It also did not have a Guatemala vibe. There was nothing cultural about this place which is sad because when yoi travel to a new country you want to be immersed and learn about the culture, food, music etc. It was more of a modern Europe vibe with house music playing 24/7.
