Positive: The bed was comfortable, the room clean and the place peaceful......but it left me wishing for more. A shame.....
Negative: The resort is set in an impressive location but many things in it are tired. The pool area is unloved with an overgrown garden, lights down the road to the pool are broken, the restaurant outside area needs a good sweep and tidy up....all in all the place looks sad. The staff were efficient and personable. I had to ask for another wine glass and some cutlery for the room, the shower cubicle area had blown plaster, the immaculate kitchen (I think newly fitted?) was smart but there were no instructions for the oven/microwave. Also you had enough cupboards that would be at home in flat....why as they were all empty? I felt I was underwhelmed by the resort as some clients drank cans of booze in the pool and generally seemed to treat the place like a down market cruise ship. The bed was comfortable, the room clean and the place peaceful......but it left me wishing for more. A shame.....
Summary: Needs some serious TLC....trading on it's past glory too much.

Positive: The breakfast wasn't very good but the dining room was nice. The sausage and "smashed" potatoes were very spicy and not particularly digestable. I loved the coffee; it was exceptional, The waitstaff were attentive and gracious.
Negative: The lack of signs at this place is terrible. We arrived at midnight after a concert at The Gorge and had a very difficult time finding the lodge. We drove into dead-ins, had to renegotiate, back track, down service roads and around and around. The GPS on the phone was not very specific saying to head northeast, for example, when we did not know in the dark where northeast was. Even the next morning when we left in bright daylight we had a difficult time finding our way out. We finally had to use the GPS again just to get to the highway.
Summary: I would stay there again, but arrive in daylight and hope that next time there will be some signage.

Positive: It’s beautiful with great hiking and a pool plus vineyard and winery near.
Negative: Our caravan was mostly lovely but they resealed the patio the day we arrived so we couldn’t sit out on Adirondack chairs which seemed wrong since we paid $500 to stay that night. Also our room was missing its coffee maker but had all the other coffee making items there - just no machine.
Summary: Loved it - the place is really stunning and a great getaway from Seattle.

Positive: Incredible location & the views are unreal. Rooms are beautifully designed.
Negative: What lets this place down is the staff who don’t seem like they want to be here at all (apart from the whisky bar tender who was great). No information given at check in. The cafe and pool cafe are closed tues & wed so there’s very limited options for food & drink in the day, especially as you’re so isolated. Asked for a coffee at 12pm and was told they don’t serve coffee? The bar was covered in pizza boxes and other rubbish. Rubbish also lying around outside for the three days we stayed. No towels at the pool with piles of dirty ones on the side. Ran out of many dishes on Monday evening. Rooms also not very clean. It’s such a shame as it could have been 5 stars. But unfriendly, unhelpful and not enough staff did not do this place any favours.
Summary: Beautiful location. Poor service.
