BODHI'S BAY HOUSE - This home is just a few steps from the private community beach, fully stocked with everything you need to have a great time on the bay. An hour from D.C. and a few minutes drive to fine casual waterfront dining at Solomon’s and Broomes Island. We provide beach towels, umbrellas, beach chairs, a cooler bag and a beach wagon. Also provided, on request, booster seat, playpen for the beach and a pack and play a child can sleep in. Kayaks are available (2 to 4), let us know if you need them. You will also find bed linens, bath towels, kitchen towels and all of the kitchen items needed to prepare a fine meal. A door from the kitchen leads to a screened porch that runs the length of the house. Bodhi’s Bay House has an open floor plan with a bedroom and bathroom on the first floor, additional sleeping in the “nook” (a trundle under the stairs); two bedrooms upstairs share a jack-and-Jill bathroom and both walk out to a second story deck with water views of the bay and a balcony that looks down on the living/dining room. Parking for 5 cars. You have found a gem on the bay, a fossil hunter’s delight, beach fires at night, unbelievable sunrises, nature parks, vineyards, crab feasts and good times.

Summary: Easy community beach access was by far the best feature of this rental. We spent most of our days on the quiet beach just down the street either fishing, swimming or shark tooth hunting. Everything you could ever need was provided in the house as well.

Summary: We traveled from Alabama to Maryland to celebrate my mother in law’s 80th birthday. While there we invited some of her family over for a small dinner and celebration. We loved the home. It was decorated beautifully and there was plenty of seating and space. We really enjoyed the screed in back porch. The home is very organized and was not lacking in any amenity! The neighborhood is very quiet and while walking to the private beach we met some residents who were very friendly.

Summary: All of us agreed that Bodhi's Beach House was perfect. The cottage was charming, beautifully appointed, and comfortable. We were delighted with its proximity to the private beach and access to amenities (such as the kayaks and other gear) that made it easy for us to enjoy as little or as much as we wanted. I urge others to check out the area--a gorgeous mix of hiking trails and wetlands, often leading to stunning views of the bay and hidden beaches. Patti was an excellent host--friendly and responsive, yet allowing us the freedom to truly relax. Thank you for your kindness! We will do our best to visit again soon!

Summary: This is our second stay here. Honestly, I hope to stay here every time we visit the Chesapeake. Bodhi"s is warm and welcoming, feels like I am coming home. In addition, it is immaculate and stocked with everything one needs.

Summary: We are women, all over 60. Loved the cottage. The description was very accurate. The kitchen was so well stocked!! Plenty of dvd movies to choose from for our evening downtime. Plus games galore. The beds comfy. And so clean. Walking to the water was pure pleasure. Easy driving distance to Annmarie Sculpture Garden, as well as various parks such as Calvert Cliffs. We would stay again.

Summary: We use VRBO about 3 times a year for work and vacation. These were the best hosts we have had. They took extra steps to make our Christmas experience with the kids more fun. They even went out and bought ornaments for the kids to put up on a tree they added to the house just for our trip. The place is tucked away in a special place. Close to DC and many neat features in the area. They even offered more places and things to do to help make our time more enjoyable. This house is stocked like your grandma’s house and we wanted for nothing. We have 5 kids and they were able to stay upstairs comfortably and my wife and I enjoyed the downstairs area to ourselves in the evening. Of all the places we have stayed they truly shine above all others as excellent hosts.
