Summary: Room was clean, staff was incredibly friendly. They quickly delivered a cot and extra bed when asked. Both reception and housekeeping were friendly with our 3 year old and had conversations with her and plenty of little gifts.

Summary: Our family usually spend a wek-end in Malmö around Christmas time, and have done so for the past 15 years - always boooking 3 or 4 rooms to accomodate the entire familiy - Thus we have tried ALL the Scandics in Central Malmö. "Scandic Malmö City" simply falls short of expectations and comparison to all the others Scandics; Front desk is understaffed, and the same person trying to check customers in, is supposed to also staff the bar - one person. I.e. getting anything as simple as some ice cubes or buy a drink will take you upwards 25 minutes. This year, our rooms were spread out over two stories - why? (We booked a month ago). In order to park your car, you are advised to check in, but rooms are not available until 16:00 hrs. Arriving at 10:00 to explore the city, you'll have to find a different way to acces the parking, instead og having a key added to your bill. One of the 2 staff we met in the reception, didn't speak Swedish?! Breakfast was somehow better managed than usually in Scandic Hotels, where people almost always stand in long lines to get food, and children running around. This time it was well managed. I still wonder why they allow guests to sit around for hours doing their planning, and making their sandwiches for the day - you would expect things to move a litlle faster and enforce some table management. Outside the main entrance, the entire pavement and steps into the building were filled with cigarette buds - extremely disgusting.
