Positive: The breakfast was good, a nice range of choices. Fresh hot food was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean. Good central location. Quiet. Comfortable bed. Nice seating area in the lobby.
Negative: The shower head did not stay in place when being used. The hairdryer did not work. There were no hot drinks available in the room.
Summary: Pleasant and conveniently located. Good for a short break of 2 nights. The price was expensive.

Positive: Great location. Within a few minutes walking distance to most of the collection points for all the tours we did. Good price point. Friendly staff.
Negative: Very old building and dark lighting throughout. Our room had only one small window that could open, the rest couldn't be opened. We had a small sauna in our bathroom which we used once but it took quite a while to heat up and wasn't really worth it in the end. The breakfast selection wasn't great and some foods didn't taste very fresh.

Positive: We only stayed for two nights. The Family room was large and the bathroom meet our needs nicely. The breakfast was excellent and the service and staff very helpful. We wouild stay again.
Negative: Nothing, but the hotel is showing its age and needs refurbishing.
Summary: This hotel was fit for purpose and very comfortable.

Positive: We stayed 4 nights in Scandinavia Pilar hotel and thoroughly enjoy it. There was a great selection at the breakfast buffet. Rooms were comfortable and clean and the lication was perfect
Negative: No complaints, maybe slight but expensive but delighted to be in city centre

Positive: The location is perfect - even if you decide for a different accommodation, look in the vicinity of this one as that is the center of Rovaniemi where all the travel agencies are located and the Santa express bus passes through. The breakfast was better than I expected. If you come with a kid, the hotel offers plastic sleds which you can take to drag your kid around town. The staff is friendly.
Negative: The rooms are rather big, but boring - you wouldn't enjoy "just spending time" in them too much (imagine a "motel room" of sorts). If you're coming to Rovaniemi to fill your days with all the typical touristy stuff, that's totally fine. If it's your honeymoon or a similar romantic getaway - much less so. As other reviews mention, the hotel has a bit of a "dated 80s vibe". We did not find this to be a problem at all, but I can see how someone could expect something more modern(ized) from the Scandic chain, and feel a bit disappointed. The price (at New year's time) was 5x of what you'd pay for the same room in a different city on a different day. Yes, it is not a surprise and you know it already from what the site shows you, but these reviews here are for grumbling a bit, right?

Positive: some of the staff were really nice and trying hard
Negative: some of the staff felt very unbothered, and could not give us the sort of information I expect from a hotel rather old-fashioned building, which also translates to the rooms. didn't mind most of that but the walls are VERY thin and you can hear EVERYTHING happening in the corridors as well as other rooms.

Positive: The location is very nice in city center and close to the river. the room had a good space with good accomodation. Staff was nice and helpfull Breakfast was good
Negative: For the price I would have expected better cleaning… I found big pieces of dust and some piece of paper which were not mine. Also a better isolation because I could hear the noise from outside almost as if windows were open, I had difficulty to fall asleep. I would also have clarifiedu that the space for the cars is limited… it was easy to find a spot in the street but unfortunatly not for free.
Summary: A bit expensive for the quality…
