This is a unique opportunity to stay on a working organic farm! This guest cottage accommodates up to 6 (4 in beds) with 2 full bathrooms. Cottage includes 2 living spaces and a nicely updated kitchen. Watch the farm activities in the morning in the sunroom while enjoying farm fresh eggs!
Explore 240 acres of woods & trails. Join your hosts Stu & Connie for egg collecting and chicken feeding. We would love to introduce you to Bennett the sheep. Bennett was recently joined by 2 more sheep and Larry the Llama in 2022!
We welcome you to join us in harvesting rhubarb, asparagus, sweet corn, potatoes and raspberries.
Have you always wanted to help with hay baling? Our first cut is late June-July (weather dependent) with our 2nd cut August - September.
Onsite bon fires & hayrides are available when scheduled before arrival (weather dependent). Supervised Bonfire's $20
Hayride (45 minutes) $50
Join us Father's Day weekend for our annual Run-a-Muck (European style 5k cross country race). No pavement! The course goes through farmland and woods--mostly flat with obstacles: water (mud), jumps, hay-bales, logs, etc.
In the fall a large hay fort is available for children and adults alike with you-pick pumpkins and all sorts of fall decor!
Our beautiful Lake Michigan beaches are only a 10 minute drive away. Farm & beach all in one vacation!
We are excited to open our farm to you! This is a great experience for children to see an actual working farm and learn about where our food comes from, ecology and responsible land use.

Summary: We traveled to Michigan for a week around a family wedding: my adult sister, myself and our senior parents. Scholl Farm seemed like a fun idea, as my dad grew up on a farm. And with all the great reviews about Stu, we hoped for a nice retreat from the wedding hullaballoo. We got so much more than we expected! Scholl farm is lovely! We were welcomed by sheep and Larry the llama on the drive in. The house has a nice porch for coffee while the sun rises. And we were pleasantly surprised that the cottage is so accessible. My mom is blind and dad sometimes uses a walker, so the ramp on the porch and accessible shower were a welcome surprise. In fact, mom and dad we able to enjoy pretty much all of the farm without having to navigate stairs or uneven terrain. This is definitely an undersold feature of the property and made our stay even better! But the star of the stay was Stu. before the trip, I read all the other reviews and they all glowingly mentioned Stu. And this one will be no different! Stu is practically a member of the family now. He talked farming with my dad, entertained my mom with jokes, and regaled us all with stories. He brought us eggs and potatoes and enjoyed an evening fireside with us as we listened for screech owls and coyotes. Truly a great vacation made even better at Scholl Farms!

Summary: Staying here was part of our daughter's 10th Birthday trip. We mostly spent the mornings and evenings at the farm and during the days we ventured to Duck Lake State Park and Michigan's Adventure. Stu was amazing! He made sure you got to experience everything you had envisioned, and he went above an beyond to make the experience memorable. You never felt rushed the whole time you are there, it is a good rest from the hustle and bustle or everyday life. The night sky was remarkable, so many stars uninterrupted by city lights. The property is gorgeous. Highly recommend!!

Summary: My wife and I stayed at Scholl Farms with our two kids, and it was an excellent experience. Stu and Connie were awesome, Stu gave us a great tour of the entire farm and explained its rich family history to the area. The kids got to feed the chickens, harvest eggs, harvest sweet corn and dig potatoes, and interact with the sheep and Larry the llama. The house is a small country home, great for small families with everything you need. Highly recommended.

Summary: This location is a great place to get away from the busyness of now a day life. The slow internet allows for people actually go outside and enjoy the outdoors. The owners were every friendly and always was willing to accept in the farming. We are already planning on our trip back in the next few years.

Summary: We booked the Farm for our first family vacation- it was the best experience ever!! The accomodations were lovely- the house is spacious, well designed, and had everything we needed. The farm itself is so beautiful and we learned so much, thanks to the owners Stu and Connie, whose generosity of spirit is remarkable. They went the extra mile to make sure we got to experience farm life and made us feel like family. Montague is a lovely town with so much to do- we can't wait to return home to the Farm!

Summary: Couldn't have asked for a better trip. House is older but larger than expected and very clean. Location is great. 1 mile to a great beach. 1 mile to a nice little down town. Silver lake sandunes only 30min away. Took a day trip to grand rapids zoo Farm itself is an experience. Able to roam freely, kids loved it. Tons and tons of room. Stu the farmer was by far the best part of the trip. Great with the kids and one of those people you just want to be around. Took the kids potatoes hunting, let them feed chickens and collect eggs and overall just wanted to make sure we had an amazing trip. Not over bearing at all. Asked when we checked in what and when we wanted to do on the farm and then left us to do our own thing. Kids were never bored. Beats the heck out of any regular house. Our entire family hopes we get to hang with Stu again. Would recommend staying here 100% Thanks for the memories Scholl Farm!
