Positive: It was a five minute walk to the beach. Little to no traffic.

Negative: On booking.com, we asked for a whole or entire house. We asked for three separate rooms with private bathrooms. We wanted a kitchen as well and an entire house for privacy. We also asked to be able to arrive earlier, between 11-12, and the owner agreed. We arrived at 11:15 and had to wait two hours to get into our rooms. I didn't like it that I was told we go check in earlier only to wait two hours while the staff cleaned the rooms. Also, I found out that we were not renting the whole house but in individual rooms. There are a total of nine rooms, actually ten. It is like a pyramid or tower with rooms on ground level on the second level, and the third level is where the owner stays. From the pictures, we thought we were getting even the top third room or view. So I was really disappointed about that. We wanted a kitchen to make our own meals. The kitchen was a fright. No water to drink, no gas tank to cook, horrible pans to cook in, no soap to wash the dishes. I continually had to find the owner to ask for things. I felt it was very chaotic and disorganized. We made the best of the situation and were patient waiting for what we needed. The worst part of ut all was the pot smoking from what I think was the staff or maybe client. By law, public facilities are a no smoking place, and the smell of Marijuana was horrible, especially when one has children and you don't want them exposed to that stench. Also, even though it is hot there in Manzanillo, the water is cold, and taking a cold shower in the morning is not as pleasant as at least a lukewarm shower. We paid $150 for three rooms. I could have gotten a far better deal somewhere else. It was too expensive for the facilities that we were at. Personally, I will not come back to this place. We were really disappointed. The owner, Wil, is nice and friendly, nothing personal.

Positive: Beautiful place in the jungle with a gorgeous beach near by. The host is an angel! Helped me so much with getting around, cause it's a bit secluded and difficult if you don't have a car. There is a bus stop right in front, but you know how busses are in Costa Rica... Would come again!

Negative: No hot water in the shower and kitchen was a bit limited. But I think other rooms don't have this issue.

Positive: Beautifull location to sleep. Waking up with animalsounds. The walk to the beach is about 10min. The soft beds sleep well. Amazing kind owner who speaks very good english. The house needs some work, so if you don't mind that your room is basic but functional, you'll have a great stay.

Negative: If you sleep in the dubbleroom, the footstaps from the upstairs neighbours are loud and clear to hear.
