Sea Gem Beach Cottage, a beautiful and spacious three bedroom getaway home just a few footsteps away from the beautiful, pristine beach. Ideal for families, even a couples getaway! This home is a perfect getaway from the hustle & bustle of the city. My home is the perfect place to unwind and relax!
The space:
Sea Gem is very spacious. It includes a fully furnished living/dining room and an equipped kitchen, 3 bedrooms(2 queen rooms & a double room). Air conditioners and fans are in each room. The sea breeze is to die for!
Enjoy the most relaxing sea breeze on our lounge porch and you'll only want to leave when its time to indulge on our unspoiled tropical beaches that's only a few footsteps away!

Once you've flown into the Providenciales International Airport located on the Island of Providenciales, you'll take the Caribbean Cruisin' ferry to get to North Caicos from Provo. The ferry ride from Provo is 30-minute and takes you to the Sandy Point Dock in North Caicos. The home is about 15 minutes from the Sandy Point dock.

Summary: North Caicos, including Sea Gem Cottage, is remote. You need a car as only the beach, 1 restaurant and 1 grocery store (equivalent of US convenient store) are quite walkable (3 min). There are no taxis waiting at the ferry port; you must plan ahead (Kedra was quite helpful in getting us to the cottage). The beach is public access although you wouldn't know it as there are very few people on it. The beach was definitely the best part! If you have a car, there is a water filling station behind My Dee's restaurant. It is significantly cheaper than buying gallons of water each day at the store. George was very helpful. He was able to give us the name of a taxi service and helped us find a kayak rental. He even helped us take our luggage back to the ferry as we couldn't fit all of us and the luggage in the car in a single trip. The house does have WiFi and a television. Unfortunately, there is no more cable service on the island (not a problem for us). The sim card for the phone wasn't working, but if you have a cell phone most businesses use Whats App so it wasn't an issue for us. George was never able to locate the bicycles for us, which was disappointing. We did appreciate the island map that was left on the kitchen counter.

Summary: It was a great experience. The property was wonderful. There was not a phone left, but after an email it was brought over promptly. There were not bikes as stated. Also was not aware the water was not drinkable. We found out that information from a neighbor. We did drink it for 2 days, but thankfully did not get sick. Anytime we had questions or needed anything George came by and helped us out. I would recommend staying in this home.

Summary: Very spacious and clean. The host was very responsive and easy to communicate with. We were surprised that the AC was only in the bedrooms and not the entire house. If you're visiting in winter or planning to spend most of the day out at the beach, then this may not be an issue for you. We were on the island for work and spent most of the day outside so it was hard for us to cool down. We did find that the mosquitos were able to sneak through the screened doors so we had to keep them shut during the night. The fridge didn't keep our food cold but Gladisha was quick to replace it. The wifi works great, even with our group of 5 using it at the same time. Overall, the house worked for our needs!
