Summary: A beautiful spot and cabin, though we were surprised to get an extra $50 charge the first night (because of our dog) without any discussion or communication -- to be honest that kind of ruined the mood. Also, bring literally everything you need with you - the cabin has very little in the way of basic amenities - extremely small amount of shampoo, soap, no body wash -- even sugar for coffee was nowhere to be found. The hairdryer was not working either. For a place in this price bracket we were disappointed. Sorry Pat, but we hope this feedback is helpful!

Summary: The cabin and location were absolutely terrific! Having a fire or hot tub right on the ocean was a wonderful way to spend the holidays.It was enough room for the 3 of us and the property and grounds were very well kept.More cleaning products available for the guests to use would have been nice, limited supply of dish detergent, garbage bags and paper towel.With that being said when we asked the owner for more items, she was very responsive and eager to please. We would stay here again.

Summary: Quite and peaceful, it’s the perfect escape. For the better part of the past decade, we’ve spent most of our vacations in Powell River at Pat and Jason’s beautiful cottage. Location wise, it’s ideal. You’re far enough from town to enjoy stargazing at night, but only half an hour from the grocery stores. It offers amazing views, from the ocean on the patio to waking up to the view of the trees from the loft. Pat and Jason are fantastic hosts. If you have a question or need something, they’re quick to address it, but they also give guests lots of privacy. The cottage has a small but well appointed kitchen and the gas fireplace gives the living area a cozy glow at night. On rainy days, the porch offers sheltered seating and for sunny days the patio below is wonderful for watching the water for marine life. We’re already looking forward to our next stay!
