Summary: We had our wedding with 25 people at the property and it could not have been more perfect. Ellen was so accommodating and helpful leading up to our stay. She went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect and that our out of town family felt right at home. A perfect spot for a Maine wedding, the house was well supplied and ready for an event. Would 100% recommend this property to anyone.

Summary: I cannot say enough great things about this property and its owner! My husband and I got engaged last September. As we began looking for wedding venues, we ran into many difficulties: price, location, dates available, etc. My husband came up with the thought to rent a summer home for the venue and our honeymoon. We found a few properties on homeaway but ran into some questionable situations with the owners switching prices on us and wanting to "chaperone" our stay. Then we found this property. The owner of this property, Ellen, is a breath of fresh air! When we expressed our interest to hold our wedding at the cottage she was very helpful! She let us visit the property and walk the grounds before we committed to anything and when we decided this was the place for us, she gave us a list of places to see and activities to do and even gave us the name of an officiant she knows in the area. She had the best info about DJs, caterers, etc. but was not requiring that we use these specific services. We were 100% free to plan our wedding the way we wanted and use her gorgeous property! Now for the property itself - it does not get better than this!!! The house itself has great curb appeal and is incredibly charming with a wishing well, tire swing, and white porch out front. Inside is nautical themed with plenty of room for guests and lots of bedrooms. There is laundry and a full kitchen which is way more convenient than a hotel room. Now for the view - at the back side of the house, the view takes your breath away! There is a 180 degree view of ocean with islands, seals, and lobster boats. The location of the house on an inlet makes for an extremely quiet stay and there is plenty of privacy from neighbors and road traffic. The gigantic bed of day lillies is stunning against the blue of the water and the green grass. The lawn is very well-kept and Ellen even made sure it was freshly mowed before the wedding day. We had a wedding of 55 people which fit very comfortably in the space. We set up an 18x20ft white wedding tent with 10 8ft tables underneath, 55 wedding chairs, and a 12x12ft dance floor easily on the property. One great positive is that the lawn is very level on the back side of the property. The house has a separate apartment which worked wonderfully as a bridal suite. We enjoyed the full week following the wedding as our honeymoon and did SO many fun things in the area! Overall we could not be happier with our experience!!! Erica
