Escape to an 1000 acre Coastal peninsula of unspoiled wilderness and stunning views. Walk along the rugged coastline to private beaches, stunning rock formations, through Nikau Palm forests and endless ocean views.
Nestles a midst this abundant natural sanctuary, is our lovely cottage, with views overlooking the entire Whanganui Inlet. This charming holiday house is perfect for just a couple or for the whole family. The Cottage is spacious and modern with one double bedroom and one twin bedroom. Feel at home in the large comfortable lounge with the fire place to keep you cosy. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, fridge and microwave, should you wish to cook.
You are welcome to go fishing, dive for lobster and search for paua.

Summary: We wanted to stay somewhere comfortable and scenic but well off the beaten track, and this was it. Our host gave us a friendly welcome. We explored the local area on walking tracks, and in our vehicle; so we really had an enjoyable time.

Summary: One of the hidden gems of Aotearoa - this slice of paradise is utterly unheralded. 360 degree beauty surrounds all your senses with abundant birdsong, sheer limestone cliffs, untouched west coast beaches and nikau palms to die for. The ebb and flow of the Whanganui inlet, its spectacular sunrises and sunsets become the rhythm of your life. We stayed 4 days in this private paradise and will definitely be back to the jewel of the Kahurangi. One of the most spectacular places in New Zealand.

Summary: WOW! if you are wanting to experience a stunning part of NZ that is literally untouched this is the place for you. The cottage itself is close to the lodge and is located on a working farm, run by a passionate family of three generations. The private land to explore is expansive with many beautiful walks and untouched beaches to discover, if you are thinking this is remote, it is, but well worth the trip, even the drive there is something special, this is a slice of NZ that many people simply won't get the opportunity to experience, so if you are undecided about weather to make the effort, don't be, it will be worth it and you will be glad you made the decesion to experience a slice of paradise.

Summary: We had a fantastic 3 days at the Westhaven Retreat cottage. The property has a variety of walks each with different scenery and all well worth doing. Monika and the team were great. The meal we had delivered to the cottage was excellent. This was a unique holiday and well worth the trip.
