There's so many things to love about the area. You'll be just 8 minutes to the Hudson River and the hip Newburgh Waterfront, 12 minutes to Beacon, and 20 to New Paltz. There are dozens of great restaurants, bars, and attractions nearby.
Did we mention that the Marlborough Farm Trail and amazing local ice cream stand, Mary Jane's Dairy Bar are both just down the street?
Getting around
We're located 15 minutes from the Beacon Train Station on the Metro North (about an 80 min. train ride from NYC). You can easily get an Uber from the train station to the house. However, we strongly recommend bringing a car for grocery runs, etc.

Summary: There are so many more positives to say about this house than negative. Some of the "issues" we had were specific to our needs and may not have any bearing on your stay. This is not the place for you if you have any mobility issues or people who struggle with stairs. We had that so that's on us but just a fair warning. Could never get the A/C units in the bedrooms to properly cool the rooms down but had windows and fans so it was tolerable. The night the power was out all night, without the fans was tough to sleep. The house was clean enough but a lot of cobwebs, dead bugs in corners and the outside grounds the place as overgrown which again, not a huge deal but also not what we expected when we pulled up based on the pictures in the listing. We lost power from a huge storm and it was out for 15-16 hours. The water to the house is a cistern and works via electric pump so for that time we had no running water and couldn't flush the toilets or any other running water required activities...we made due but a pretty significant inconvenience. Now for the good. The location was PERFECT! We needed something within 20 miles of USMA, close to restaurants, shopping, etc. but also a nice, quiet place to relax for the weekend. The kitchen was fully equipped, the stove was awesome! Great space for a big crowd between the outdoor deck area and the inside dining room table. We used both areas multiple times. This house was good just not great and that's ok - it worked.

Summary: My college friends and I loved this house!! We only see eachother every couple of months (sometimes years) and this house was perfect for us. It was really cozy and all the rooms/couches were really comfy. The hot tub was a hit and we went in almost every night. We spent a lot of time in the backyard, especially the fire pit. The property is really secluded up a gravel road but not far from stores and other things. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots/pans/utensils and everything else. The entire house was stocked with everything we needed; soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. As other reviews mention, try to space out the showers as we took a lot of cold showers during the weekend (most of the time it was refreshing anyway). Be aware since there is a lot of greenery around there are many bugs and they will come in the house. We brought our own bug spray but the house had as well. Once we got in the house and turned the AC on for a couple hours, it kept the house nice and cool even on a 90 degree day. Overall we had a great time!!

Summary: the property is approximately 30 to 40 minutes from West Point. The area has lots of gas stations with convenient stores along with many Deli and a few eat-in restaurants. The house is very large and comfortable. Downstairs was clean and lots of rooms to gather. However, the upstairs rooms seemed to have storage. items, such as a desk and a piano along with small pieces of equipment that were not usable in the master bedroom. The master bathroom had bugs/pests in the shower, tub, and on the floor. Bed linens seemed overused and outdated. Beautiful patio with lots of seating and a hot tub. I would stay there again, but would make sure that the above items are addressed.

Summary: This property was easy to find but off the beaten path of that makes sense. My sister and I traveled to NY to be with family for Thanksgiving, this was the first time we had all been together for a holiday in way too long. The house was warm and comfortable, the bedrooms have these little lofts above with a twin bed, the big beds are SO comfortable, the natural light was beautiful also. My mother and sisters cooked in the kitchen and had everything they needed regarding utensils and cookware. Even though it was November we still ventured outside to use the hot tub which was a lot of fun. We are so grateful to have had this experience together!

Summary: We really loved staying at this place! The house is clean and well maintained. There are lots of extra towels, sheets, blankets. The beds are by far the most comfortable compared to all the homeaway/airbnb that we've stayed, mostly probably because the owner actually lives in this place. The best part of this place isthe outdoor space, it is so well maintained and the garden/space is so beautiful!!!! The outdoorhot tub is also very clean to relax around any time of day. I highly recommend this place for family getaway or just a few friends having some fun together. The owner is also very responsive and she's super nice.
