Our villa, Casa da Roda, is situated near Arganil in the Beiras region of Central Portugal.
The villa overlooks a lake with spectacular views of the mountains and is surrounded by a conservation area.

Summary: Stunning views and a beautifully maintained villa , photos do not do justice to this place. If you want a true taste of Portugal then you will have come to the right place. Spacious and comfortable property with a lovely pool area and plenty of space for outdoor dining. Very secluded so a car is essential. Unfortunately we didn’t realise how secluded and didn’t hire a car. But the host Geoff made sure we were well looked after , taking us into Arganil to stock up on food and drink and making sure our stay was comfortable and without stress. We even got to visit the local market with lots of local produce and the pop up chicken rotisserie with the locals , popular with the villagers who made us feel very welcome. If you love nature , bike rides , fishing , boating , walking and a true taste of Portugal then this is the place for you.

Summary: Lovely days in Roda. The house and the views are even better than we could imagine by seeing the Photos. Wonderful and very clean pool. Spectacular walks by the river, We've seen rabbits, foxes, eagles, lots of wildlife. Very nice host. In every detail we can feel that this house was built with love. Thank you Linda for this week. We'll be back

Summary: 5* property in a very secluded area, the perfect get-away-from it all. We knew it was going to be great from the moment we arrived. The welcome pack was amazing. The view across the river was to die for. Linda was very friendly and helpful. We loved it so much we’ve booked again for 2019....

Summary: A truly stunning location, devoid of chip eating, beer drinking tourists. This is the true Portugal where you get to meet and mix with the locals. The villa itself is superb with everything you could want. This was our 17th holiday at this place and it gets better every time. The hosts are on hand for advice on places to go, but do not intrude in your space. I can not rate this highly enough and advise you to try it for yourself. I have already booked our next visit and can't wait to be sitting on the veranda with a glass of the local wine admiring the stunning view.

Summary: Casa da Roda is situated in the most amazing location. The villa overlooks the River Alva which is great for swimming, and there is a rowing boat for exploring the river further. The view from the villa terraces and from the pool area is breathtaking. There are plenty of seating/eating areas around the property so you can be in full sun or shade. The salt water pool is perfect for cooling down and we spent most days laughing and playing around the pool. There is so much to do in the area if that's what you want. We chose to just totally relax at the villa with a few trips out during our week. The river beach at Gois is an excellent day out and you can have lunch at a table with your feet in the river which our grandchildren loved. Lin and Geoff have obviously put a lot of work into making Casa da Roda such a wonderful place. They live on site but are completely invisible unless you want them for anything. They are both very knowledgeable about the area, both are helpful with Portuguese language, and we loved spending time with them. The villa is spacious, very well equiped and we wanted for nothing. The welcome pack of food, milk and water was great and meant we didn't immediately have to go shopping. There was also a huge bowl of fruit waiting for us. After such a stress free and relaxing holiday we've booked again for next year - well, why wouldn't you?

Summary: A peaceful, secluded place in beautiful surroundings with a tastefully decorated, spacious house. If you have any concerns from the description be assured - no mozzies from the river, the pool is just big enough for proper excercise if you want it (about 10 strokes), no traffic noise from the village (half a dozen cars per day). We had a wonderful, restful holiday. Your hosts can tell you places to eat, swim and visit, but mostly we just chilled. Try a cool, early morning row on the river - magical.
