Welcome to the Booger Bear Den! Nestled deep in the Nantahala National Forest, this A frame log cabin overlooks the Nantahala Gorge, backs up to forest land for extra privacy and offers the perfect setting for a romantic weekend or a family adventure. Whether you are looking to try your hand at fly fishing, or take on the rapids of the Nantahala river, you have found your perfect getaway. Within moments of the cabin you can hike, mountain bike, white water raft, kayak, zip line, hunt, go horseback riding and much more. The cabin sleeps 5 comfortably in the two bedrooms. The master bedroom showcases a locally made king size bed and a twin bed. The twin bed also has a trundle. The second bedroom has a double bed. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need to cook and there is a small propane grill on the front porch. A TV and library of DVD’s, games, books and CDs are available to keep you entertained inside while the fire pit offers the chance to make s’mores on those cool fall and winter evenings. There is a washer and dryer in the cabin.
Lace up your boots and spend your day exploring the property and hiking the forest land that surrounds the cabin or snuggle up and enjoy your day relaxing on the balcony out back while listening to the sounds of the wet weather creek. Solitude is plentiful here as there is minimal cell coverage and no WiFi. A perfect opportunity to unplug. Restaurants, antique shopping and entertainment are nearby as Bryson City, Andrews, Murphy, Franklin and Robbinsville are only a short drive away. You will find outfitters and rental companies for all of your recreation needs. Centrally located within minutes of The Great Smoky Mountain Railway, Deal’s Gap (The Tail of the Dragon), Nantahala Outdoor Center, Tsali Recreation area and Bartram trail, you have found your perfect place in the mountains! The cabin is located on a steep gravel road. Cars with low ground clearance might find access difficult. All wheel drive and four wheel drive vehicles are recommended. Please note there is no wifi and very little phone service in this area.

Summary: We stayed for Thanksgiving weekend with family. The cabin is in a great location. We visited Findley Falls, the NOC, watched the kayakers, and saw the Appalachian trail. When we relaxed at the cabin we had everything we needed. The fire ring was a great amenity, there are movies galore, board games, and comfortable beds. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals, coffee, etc. The fireplace was nice and warm. It was wonderful to be able to include our dogs for our trip. They were happy and comfortable too.

Summary: We had a great time getting unplugged! Arrived late afternoon, went up the road in 2-wheel drive all the way. Later used 4wd up and down. Cabin is clean and perfect and fairly secluded. Who knew the next day (Monday) was bear season. Sat on front porch with a cup of coffee and listened to hounds baying. Visited Robbinsville, Andrews, and Murphy. Pleasantly surprised with the quaintness of Murphy. Hiked Joyce Kilmer, Bartram, Falls north of Robbinsville, and Wayah firepower. Fly fishers! Wayah road is just around the corner(5-7minutes) and a long stretch of river-lots of pull offs. Get a guide-yoy catch more fish! Thank you for your service!

Summary: The cabins offers everything you need for a relaxing getaway or a place to bring the kids to explore. This property is centrally located to a number of neat small towns as well as many activities that can be done on the Nantahala River.

Summary: My 2 teenage sons and I were looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay and 'get away'. And that is what we got. The cabin was gorgeous and location was great, at the top of the world! It was quiet just what we were wanting and close enough to the areas we were planning to visit.

Summary: This is a very comfortable cabin in the woods on the side of a mountain. Although it was said that you would need a four-wheel-drive I went up it in my 2 Wheel Dr. with no problem after loading several bags of gravel into my truck bed and I was towing a golf cart in a small trailer. The place is incredible and is perfect for anyone that is wanting to get away from cell service and the Internet for a little while with great views and complete peace and quiet. We will be returning for sure again in the future. The booger Bear Lodge rocks!

Summary: Clean, peaceful and just all around perfect! We took our shepherd, Radar, and she loved lying on the front porch. Only one spot of cell service enough to text on the back porch so we didn't have to worry about phones ringing! Dvd's and board games. Just might suggest a 4wd or truck with a locker.
