The buildings which includes a large open barn, encompass a suntrapped courtyard leading to the grounds that includes a high grade11 x 5 meter Pebbletec pool completed last year that is set in the hillside. A Japanese garden where you can enjoy watching the koi in the lovely pond and watch the sunset with a glass of wine in your hand and view the stars through a telescope.
There is addition, two barbecue cooking and eating areas, one in the courtyard and a ranch style firepit in the Japanese Garden.

Summary: My husband and I (and our dog Monty!) spent a wonderful month at Frankie's house. The pictures do not do the property justice. The house itself has been thoughtfully renovated with comfortable bedrooms and a fully stocked kitchen that we used throughout our trip. The swimming pool is just lovely and we spent many hours relaxing in the pool area which has a marvellous view of farmland and sunflower fields. Monty had plenty of space to explore as well and the property is very dog friendly. The house is private and secluded, which was perfect for us as we wanted to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. There are plenty of areas to explore within easy driving or cycling distance, including some lovely local restaurants and bars. It is also an easy drive to Bordeaux, Cognac and the surrounding areas. Marie was on hand to answer questions and help with dinner bookings and was absolutely brilliant. She cooked dinner for us one night and it was the best meal we had on our trip! She kindly left us with recipes and a jar of her amazing chutney as well. We could not recommend Frankie's place highly enough for a stay and look forward to visiting again soon!

Summary: We are a family of 6 with 4 children (19,16,14,10) and we all had a fantastic holiday staying in the beautifully renovated farmhouse. Stunning views and a very peaceful and relaxing environment. The pool is really fantastic - and was constantly enjoyed throughout our stay Thanks to Frankie and Marie for their great communication and speed of replies - really appreciated in current climate. Thanks again for a great break Nigel

Summary: Beautifully renovated farmhouse in a lovely area on the border of the Dordogne and the Charente, also within visiting distance of Bordeaux. Superb pool and very attractive gardens with views over the surrounding hills. Lots of thoughtful touches, like shady nooks created throughout the gardens to read in, a hammock, and a telescope with which to view the fantastic night skies. The interior of the house is very tasteful and superbly equipped. The owner, Frankie, was very easy to contact and gave some great recommendations. I'd very much recommend staying here.
