The Glendale House, situated on
33 acres at the end of a dirt road, is
ideal for folks wanting a break from
the urban pace. Just 82 miles from
downtown Winston-Salem, 1/4th
mile from the New River, 2 miles
from the Blue Ridge Parkway, the area
offers hiking, biking, golf,
tubing, canoeing, fishing, good
restaurants, a great arts district in
West Jefferson, and peace and quiet. Ben Long Fresco's are located in Glendale Springs, 3 miles from the cabin.
For the winter guest, weather permitting, tobogganing, sledding on the property, Appalachian Ski Mountain 32 miles via the Parkway.
The cozy 1,100 square foot
cabin is in a most beautiful place. The
cabin has maple floors and cabinets,
two bedrooms upstairs with hand crafted
beds, sunroom drawing in the
outside, one bathroom, no television,
no dishwasher, a washer and dryer,
picnic table and gas grill on the deck,
fire place in the back yard, a birdfilled
front yard, high speed wireless
internet connection and the upstairs has air conditioning. The cabin is
fully furnished and very inviting.
This lovely cabin is overlooking the New River Valley. As the fog raises in the morning and your coffee is brewing, you will see seven bends in this historic river valley and hear the rapids below. Your view is of the undistribued Blue Ridge Mountains with very few homes in the viewshed across the river valley.
The cabin is fully furnished. It is decorated with originial art, handcrafted furniture, pottery and photography. The office has high speed internet, a fax/copier and desk. A stargazer haven.

Summary: We celebrated our 32 anniversary with a weekend stay at this private mountain home. It was our third visit to the quiet location near West Jefferson, and it will not be our last! Many thanks to the graious host for his hospitality! See you again soon!

Summary: Nice cabin with great views of the mountain. It is secluded and private with no nearby neighbors, yet close enough to West Jefferson downtown which has great restaurants and gift shops (about 10~15 min drive). Pat is a great communicator and an awesome host who made us feel like his own family. He went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible.

Summary: Away from busy life and with great mountain views. Especially the sunset from the balcony/sunroom was so beautiful. A few cobweb was seen, but other than that clean and cozy.

Summary: Overall enjoyable visit with the family. Did notice some cobwebs both downstairs and upstairs. No blinds or curtains in any windows including the bathroom window that’s directly in front of the toilet. We fixed that while we were there. Easy check-in process. Info to contact owner available but not needed during the trip. Beautiful property with mountain backdrop.

Summary: This is our third time staying here and once again we were not disappointed. The home is secluded and a wonderful place to getaway from it all. We saw deer and turkeys. The night sky and mountain views are amazing. The pictures and description of the property or right on.

Summary: A cozy little cabin on a mountain top. Nicely furnished and within a few miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway and West Jefferson. We love staying here and this was our second stay.
