5 Bedroom House in Bar Harbor

Room for the who;e family and pets right on the ocean!
5 bedrooms, 4 baths, 2 full kitchens, 2 living rooms, sun room and a family room on 3 private acres. Rolling lawn to the ocean with a firepit. Next door to Mount Desert Oceanarium, Acadia, mini golf and great for family gatherings!
The house is very private, on a 3 acre wooded lot with a rolling field in the back to the shore of Thomas Bay. It is set off the road, with a circular driveway and is private, even though it is located on the main road leading to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Hulls Cove ntrance to Acadia National park is Downtown Bar Harbor is 10 min away. Downtown Bar Harbor 15 min away.
Mount Desert Oceanarium Oceanarium, lobster hatchery and lobster museum are just nex driveway. The bay is full with wildlife.
The main house has 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths. The Master bedroom offers a king bed, ensuite bath and private deck overlooking the ocean.
The main floor is home to a large kitchen, dining room, breakfast nook with a separate table abd a couch, living room, a separate very large family room and a bathroom.
Second floor has a large master bedroom with a king size bed, en-suite bath and a balcony facing the ocean, 3 additional bedrooms - 2 bedrooms have 2 twin beds each, one bedroom with bunk beds and a trundle, and an additional bathroom.
For a couple that wants complete privacy while still being part of the family - there is an additional in-law apartment to the home with a private entrance. That apartment has a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and living room.
For your outdoor spaces, large custom built deck, a fully screened in sun room both of which face the Bay, a 2 car garage, large rolling lawn. 2 Hammocks in the woods near the water.
The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and utensisls, has a dishwasher, refrigeretor and a stove.
For outdoor cooking there is an outside grill. There is also a fire pit for guests' use.
Family room has cable TV, books and board games.
Finished basement has washer and dryer.

Summary: The house was fine. The price was good compared to others but dont expect luxury. There were no dishtowels so we had to buy some. There wasnt enough toilet paper to last the week. There was no shampoo. The pots and pans were old and not good quality but other than that the location was excellent. Lots of things to do nearby. Mosquitos were bad at the water so we stayed up near the house.

Summary: House is spacious with large yard which was perfect for our family getaway. The main house and the in law suite gave everyone their own space and their own bathrooms. It is close to the main entrance to Acadia and many places to eat including Trenton Bridge and Bar Harbor Lobster Pound. We rented paddleboards and were able to launch them right from the yard at high tide. Also loved watching the Osprey nest on the little island across from the house.

Summary: We loved staying here! The setting feels secluded and has a lovely view of the water yet the location is perfect. It's equidistant to Bar Harbor, Echo Lake, and Ellsworth. We liked that location instead of the crowds and traffic in Bar Harbor. The house is really big with lots of communal spaces and big kitchen. It was nice having the garage since it was raining on the day we arrived -- made unloading the cars very easy. The hosts were great and very quick to respond to our questions. Will definitely look to stay here again next time we get the family together.

Summary: I was pleased overall with our stay, I would like to make a suggestion. I think cleaning could be better we found a lot of dust in areas and some things a little dirty. I totally understand the turn over time is crazy, but I feel a little more attention to detail was needed when cleaning. Also maybe some updating would be nice. More towel racks in bathrooms, new couch (present one was very stained),maybe a little something every year . All in all your location is spot on and we had a great family stay, would totally book again. Thank you

Summary: Close to Bar Harbor & Acadia NP entrance & to grocery shopping back across bridge. Enjoyed fire pit. Older house that has some minor maintenance issues but we did not go to Acadia area to sit in the house. Had 6 in our party & ample room for more.

Summary: This was our second year at the house. The location was wonderful even for a foggy rainy week. The only 2 issues were lack of screens for the windows and another room with beds larger than twins would be nice!

Summary: We truly enjoyed the Thomas Bay Retreat house. 2 families (4 adults, 3 teens, and a doggo) stayed very comfortably. House was clean, well maintained, and the location was great. Highly recommended
