Positive: I really loved the onsen experience. We also paid extra for the Kaysei dinner, which was delicious and well presented. However, it was a pity that we were not informed in advance that we needed to choose our main dish when booking the meal, so we were unaware that pre-selection was required. In the end, the chef selected one abalone and one beef dish for us. Although both were good, we would have preferred to choose abalone for both. Despite this small issue, the overall stay was still very enjoyable and relaxing, and we left with a happy experience.

Positive: Food was excellent. Location as well, easy to find and relatively near to attractions I was keen on. Hospitailty was overall great.

Negative: It’d have been better if we had been assigned staff with better command of the english language to reduce miscommunication from the start which delayed our check in. The headcount and room assignment I indicated on the booking were also not conveyed to the staff. For instance, my younger som (3 years old) was excluded in the booking and the meal assignment - this should have been conveyed before we checked in so we can arrange his meals earlier or change our minds on the accommodation. I was also under the impression that there was private bath (onsen) in each room, or at least the family room, but it turns out we had to pay more for a family bath experience - not sure this was worthwhile for the price. There could have been more flexibility with respect to meal times as well especially dinner so we could explore evening attractions such as the illuminations at Granpal park. Perhaps we could have picked which meal we wanted to include in our package eg 1 dinner instead of 2?

Positive: We had the family suite, for 4 adults and 2 kids. The suite was spacious, and the service was beyond expectations. Ended up not going to the public onsen, but the in-suite one was fantastic. Food was exceptional.

Negative: Nothing the establishment could fix, but I wish the suite had better views. We were on the fourth floor, and it was mostly a city view. Would prefer more landscape. While it came out to ~$1200 a night for 4 adults and 2 kids, a tad on the upper end of what you'd expect in terms of value/experience.

Summary: The toddlers love the in suite onsen. Makes the $1200/night worth it
