In 1605, according to existing manuscripts in "Libro Becerro" of the national historical archives, there was already a small congregation of Dominican friars, who owned a small convent formerly called factory, where they cultivated the garden, were in charge of managing masses, novenarios and administered the Church assets.
Later and on the vestiges of this convent (in 1897) was built a granite stone mansion rich in ashlar masonry, which is the current Galician Abbey.
In the restoration we have tried to preserve all the existing architectural typology of the area, facades in granite stone, ashlar masonry, roof with Arab tile and adding elements in rust that give a character of sobriety and very personal enhancement to the building.

Summary: La casa realmente fue una abadía y se ve el esfuerzo por mantener elementos originales, para mantener su autenticidad. Pero en nuestra estancia debemos destacar el jardín, que es a lo que más uso hemos dado. El cesped parecía una moqueta, para tumbarte directamente y las niñas no han parado de jugar. Muy adecuado para dar paseos por el entorno y agradecidos al pastor de enfrente de la casa, que ha dejado a las niñas pasar a ver y tocar los corderos recién nacidos.

Summary: Estuvimos un fin de semana un grupo de amigos. Cuando llegamos nos estaba esperando Antonio para enseñarnos todo lo que está haciendo en el pueblo. La recuperación de casas junto con sus alumnos del instituto, que increíble!! Junto con Poli nos enseñó un aula de los años cincuenta recreada con todo lujo de detalles y el museo fotográfico con fotos antiguas de gente del pueblo. La casa rural espectacular, con unos detalles preciosos. Una gran chimenea junto a la que hemos desayunado y cenado en un ambiente perfecto. En la cocina hay todo lo necesario para preparar cada comida y todo está limpísimo. Por último un jardín muy grande, con un pozo totalmente diferente a cualquier otro. Ha sido un fin de semana único. Repetiremos, seguramente en primavera para disfrutar del jardín y la barbacoa. Gracias Antonio por tu amabilidad y profesionalidad. Seguro que volveremos a vernos.

Summary: Hemos estado este Puente de Diciembre en la Abadía de Galicán, y lo hemos disfrutado enormemente. Estuvimos con nuestros mellizos y nuestra perra, y todo ha estado genial. También nos han servido mucho las indicaciones de Antonio, tanto para comer como en casa y de calidad (en el restaurante de Mari), como para realizar senderismo y rutas bellas (El Pozo de Los Humos, Las Arribes del Duero, Salamanca, Ledesma). También nos encantó el pan que encargamos al panadero que nos lo trajo a la casa, y al increible hornazo que nos hizo, también recomendado por Antonio. Agradecemos la estancia, y por supuesto que repetiremos, esta vez acompañados de nuestros amigos. Lo que más nos ha gustado, ha sido su chimenea y su patio, del cual creemos que se puede llegar a disfrutar aún más en primavera. Puede ser una buena fecha para regresar. Una casa rústica y con historia de verdad. La próxima también visitaremos su museo, que esta vez no nos dio tiempo.

Summary: He pasado con la familia en la ABADIA el dia de san jose no hemos tenido ningun problema con la calefaccion ni la luz. Hemos disfrutado un monton. GRACIAS ANTONIO

Summary: Acabo de volver de pasar 15 dias en la Abadia y todo estuvo muy bien. El dueño Antonio y un cuidador que tiene Poli son estupendos. Solo voy a poner dos indicaciones que más que criticas me gustaria que fueran sugerencias para hacer la estancia aun mas agradable. 1.- El jardin es muy espacioso y bien cuidado, lastima que no posea luz de noche y no disponga aunque sea de un sencillo juego de terraza para disfrutar de el o comer. Estar siempre tirado en el cesped es muy incomodo. 2.- Las habitaciones y los baños perfectos muy bonitos y equipados, pero le faltaria un salon de estar un poco mas comodo para que las familias que lo ocupen puedan pasar un rato hablando o jugando a las cartas, por ejemplo. No tiene comedor y estar siempre en la cocina es un poco incomodo. Por ultimo solo comentar que aunque limpiaron una ves a la semana, no cambiaron las sabanas en los 15 dias y es demasiado tiempo. Por lo demas todo perfecto. Gracias a Antonio y repetiria si soluccionara estas sugerencias.
