Summary: Had a great holiday staying at the gite. It had everything we needed and the pool was brilliant. Stephanie & Bruce were very welcoming and helpful, and gave us good tips on places to visit. Lots to do in the area and supermarkets are less than 10 mins away. I would highly recommend staying here 👍

Summary: What a great decision it was to choose to stay at "Le Matou" Gites. We stayed in the larger Gite, "Les Tournesols", which was spacious, clean and comfortable with everything you could possibly need for your stay. The welcome pack waiting for us on the table was superb. The pool was well maintained and was a welcome sight after our daily travels around this beautiful part of France. The weather was superb, very sunny and around the mid 30's every day. There really is a lot to see in this part of France and we enjoyed visiting the many Bastide towns and also the larger town of Bergerac which was not far away. We also enjoyed our favourite hobby of hunting down the many restaurants that serve a "menu du jour", sometimes 5 courses including wine for around 15 euros! Steph & Bruce are fantastic hosts and we really enjoyed their company playing boules and having a few drinks, we also met them at the night market in the nearby village of Sauvetat-du-Dropt, which had live music and local food stalls. We raise a glass to Steph & Bruce to say thanks for a lovely week at "Le Matou" Gites. Tony, Teresa, Emily and Harry, Portsmouth.

Summary: Super gites exactly as described. Large ground well kept and very pleasant to sit in. Good swimming pool spotless. Gite was large and again spotless with everything one needs for a good stay comfortable. Stepanie and Bruce are very friendly amd helpfullots of sugestions for outings and sightseeing very welcoming and can,t do enough to make you feel at home. We would recommend to any one for a good holiday. Villages around were very interesting and picturesque. Good roads thankyou for a good break

Summary: We have stayed in several French gites in the past, and this one is way up there. It's in an excellent position for touring this beautiful area. The gite itself had a good layout and was spotlessly clean.The weather was a little cold in the evenings,so it was great to have heating and a very Green wood pellet burner. Steph the owner,was always on hand if she was needed. All in all a top class gite that I can fully recommend.

Summary: The gite is fantastic. It is truly a home from home in terms of equipment with fully equipped kitchen and uk TV as well as the most epic pool and climbing frame (my children's words!). Steph and Bruce were fantastic hosts offering excellent advice on local attractions suitable for all ages in our party . It truly is a gite to relax in with lovely sun loungers and hammocks which were really comfortable. We hired both gites on site and found as a family group and a couple we could holiday together but maintain some independence. I would definitely recommend this gite , lovely location and facilities were 5*

Summary: Stayed in the 2bedroom gite. Living and eating area spacious and comfortable. Beds were very comfortable. The second toilet is a useful facility for a family of 4 or two couples sharing. Had our own large patio with tables and chairs provided. View looked out on to a good size swimming pool and very comfortable sun loungers were provided with sun shades if needed. Surrounding area is very quiet and if you are lucky you may get to see the deer and red squirrels that on occasions roam around the property. This is the second time that I have stayed here and hope to visit again next year for a longer stay.

Summary: The gite was amazing - had everything we could have needed and more. Very clean and hosts were very friendly and informative about the local areas and where to visit. We chose to use the bikes and had a lovely bike ride into the countryside. Recommend these gites - like a home from home with a bit of France and fantastic weather!

Summary: This was our second stay at Le Matou gites. On this occasion we stayed in Les Tournesols. The gites are very comfortable, clean, well equiped and well maintained as are the grounds. We spent our time revisiting all the beautiful places in the surrounding area, going to local markets and evening events and spent time relaxing by the pool. Our hosts Step and Bruce were great, very friendly, informative and nothing was too much trouble. I would certainly recommend Le Matou gites. Great gites, beautiful area, wonderful food, the wine wasn't bad either😎. We are looking forward to a third visit some time in the not too distant future.
