Summary: It was a good overall experience. The house was listed as having 3 full baths, and it only had 2, and the advertised personal parking spot in the garage was occupied by the owners golf cart during our entire stay. A rental golf cart came in real handy for navigating the property because it was so big and spread out. It was also handy going to and from beach to keep from getting sand in our vehicles.

Summary: We rented this condo for a family vacation for 4 adults and 4 children. The bay side of Pointe West is nice and quiet. Lots of wildlife to see. The first challenge we encountered was that a golf cart with a cover was parked in our parking spot below the building. We had to pull the car in near the elevator and bring all our groceries up and then park outside. Then we couldn’t get the door open. The registration email gave us the lockbox code but underneath it said “Lockbox not working.” So I had to call Vacasa to ask them how to get in the condo. This took 45 minutes in the hot Galveston weather. For those in Portland, Washington (Vacasa headquarters) that may be difficult to relate. So we found out the lockbox was located somewhere else and we got the key to enter - just one. Then the door was hard to open. When we finally got in, everything was nicely appointed, but we were disappointed with the queen bed. It has a raised bed frame and only a thick foam mattress. Most of the condo is carpeted which is unusual for a beach rental condo. The primary bedroom was really nice, and the bed was so comfortable. When I was ready to go to sleep, there were sand fleas biting my feet. I thought oh no! My nephew, wife and 4 kids are going to be running around in their bare feet and I can’t have them stay here.I contacted Vacasa and I chatted with corporate and local staff and they found another condo at Pointe West for us to stay. We had to pack up everything and move into a condo in the next building. My advice to the owners is to pull out the carpet completely and put down tile floors. They are so much easier to clean and they won’t have to worry about bugs.
