Positive: To echo comments of others, the chance to stay a night in the historic Sevan Writers' House was wonderful. The views of the lake were super from both the room and restaurant. The gentlemen managing the restaurant and accommodation were polite.

Negative: The room was simple and the bathroom basic but these were as expected. Had the accommodation been thoroughly renovated for the 21st century it would have lost all its charm.

Positive: Great location on the peninsula and fantastic view of the lake from the balcony of the room. Breakfast was decent. Really interesting architecture, a historical monument to Soviet brutalism with an interesting history.

Negative: Place was a little rundown unfortunately. It has a nice Soviet charm but feels like it could be a much cooler place to stay if it was restored a little bit.

Negative: Place is obviously dated which is fine, but is not very clean. Room smelled of smoke. Previous guest items left in fridge. Food was not great Tolmas dry not fresh.

Summary: It was about the history and the “secret path to the monastery.

Positive: Look - it’s not the Ballagio, but it’s a glorious and unique slice of history that you can actually live in. The views are among the most stunning I’ve seen, the breakfast was delicious, and you’ll probably have the place to yourself. If you can forgo a little luxury, this place will make your trip. I won’t forget watching the storm from the balcony, or drinking till late with nobody to bother us but ourselves.

Positive: Unique location for fans of Soviet architecture. Great location with marvelous view on lake. The staff is friendly and kind, as many other Armenians you will meet here.

Negative: The lounge and hotel is not in the best shape, the best says of Writers House is gone.

Summary: Amazing piece of architecture which would deserve some facelift.
