This house is designed with fun in mind! Located right on a cove this house has private beach access and includes two kayaks. Explore the fantastic views of the house by paddling along the shoreline and out to nearby islands.
A bonus game room you wont find anywhere else is equipped with ping pong, an air hockey table, and a pool table.
The real feature of the home, however, is its setting, privately nestled among pine trees with large windows and two decks to take in the spectacular water views, looking out onto Billings Cove and the Freese Islands.
The house itself includes four bedrooms and two bathrooms and has plenty of space for the family to sprawl out, including a large living room with a fireplace. There is dining space for all, and the house has been updated with new appliances in the kitchen. Lovely and affordable place for a family!

Summary: The place was large, very clean, and in a quiet location with two decks overlooking the water. It has a large kitchen with everything we needed for meal preparation, and all the beds were very comfortable. The decor was old-school but nostalgic and very well done. For a family of six it had plenty of room with two full bathrooms. The internet connection was solid the entire time. There was plenty of fun family things to do at the house and around Deer Isle, along with being close to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Belfast, and other small towns that had many restaurants, stores, art galleries, and historical sites to enjoy. There are also many beautiful local and state parks nearby, along with hundreds of hiking, kayaking, and scenic views opportunities all relatively close the house. We truly felt like we were in Maine, and not just in a tourist location with everyone else. Whenever I had a question the owners were quick to respond and very helpful. This was a great first experience renting a house this way. I highly recommend Shangri-La, especially for families!

Summary: Large charming home with lots of things to do even on rainy days.Beautiful deck views. Slightly dated ( which added to the charm) but very comfortable and clean. Basement was a little musty.

Summary: If you are looking for fancy, this isn’t the place for you. But if a huge, comfortable home is what you are looking for…this home is perfect. While the decor reminded me a bit of my grandmother’s home, that just added to its charm. Nestled right next to the water on a secluded peninsula, the house had everything we needed. We hiked through pristine woods, kayaked in the bay and watched the boats float gently in the cove. Breakfasts on the deck and evenings spent playing ping pong and air hockey filled our day. My family, and our two dogs enjoyed every moment of our stay. All the beds were super comfortable and the grocery store was 10 minutes away. Acadia and Bar Harbor were about an hour away. The only downside was that we had to leave- and even leaving was magical as a baby fox popped out of his den to see us off. We would definitely stay here again.

Summary: Nice, clean, and dated home. The wifi was unreliable, possibly because of a tree leaning on phone wires on the road leading to the house. Great views. The lockbox was not in an obvious place and after driving 7 hours, it was frustrating not to be able to get in and unload things while there was still a little daylight.

Summary: There was plenty of room for 4 of us plus dog. The location overlooked moored boats including double masted schooners and lobster boats. Walks on the forested roads were very pleasant. Stonington and Blue Hill both within easy distance. Small grocery store ten minutes away.

Summary: It was clean and spacious. Upon entering, there were a short set of clear rules to follow for our stay and that is always helpful. Everyone noted the beds were especially comfortable. This is a real get a way cottage with lovely views into the cove. Cottage offers a variety of things to do and help with anyone's interest. It is about 10 minutes from Stonington and actually just about everything else in Deer Isle. None of us would have any problem staying here again.
