Summary: My husband and I stayed here for a few nights and it ticked all boxes. The house was stunning as was the pool and view. Wendy was so helpful organising our spa treatment and making sure our stay was comfortable. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to getaway from the hustle and bustle of life.

Summary: Our family of 4 stayed at Shangri La for 10 days in July, It's a great location for getting away from it all and finding peace. The house is nestled beautifully in the rainforest with extensive grounds to explore. The accommodation has all the facilities you need and whilst there is no mobile reception the internet worked well and it was great the phone could be put away. (There is a landline available in the house). The pool is lovely with the most gorgeous views of the rainforest. Next to the pool, a day bed, and outdoor shower facilities. Perfect. The outdoor BBQ was used and the outdoor table setting is spacious, and great to hang out with the background garden lighting. I would say the place is a little tired, but to be honest, it didn't distract from the general charming feel of this space. Also, we were supposed to get one complimentary clean over the 10 days. This didn't happen as planned. Again though, it didn't take away our enjoyment of the home overall. It is 30 minutes from Port Douglas. It was worth the drive to be able to enjoy the home as much as we did. The drive takes you through Mossman, and through the Sugar Cane fields. The house is only about 20 mins from the Daintree River Crossing. If I was in the area again, I would certainly consider revisiting.

Summary: First of all, the property has nothing to do with Shagri La hotel chain. If you need anything, Hans is very helpful. Pool, spa and terrace very nice. Pool can be heated (we did not know). On our departure pool boy came and heated up to 32 degrees for next guests. Normally about 26, which is fine for swimming. Upper windows in bathroom spa very dirty. Interior especially living room needs new furniture. Sofa lots of stains. Bedrooms no cupboard, just aluminium frame. Tap water drinkable but rusty taste, big bottles of water available. Bottles have been refilled (funny taste). Guests should do one load of towels when leaving. Detergent powder available for two loads only! I critizise, because the property wants to be situated high end as an executive retreat. There is lots to do!

Summary: After a long, cold, Victorian wintry, Shangri La offered the lluxury and privacy that we were seeking. A large, warm pool with spectacular vistas made the stay an outstanding experience.
