Summary: We had a wonderful time at Shawnigan Lake. Gord's condo was everything he said it would be. This clean well maintained unit was a great place to kick back on the large balconey over looking the lake. We rate it 5 out of 5.

Summary: This was our first visit to Shawnigan Lake and we had a wonderful time. The host Gord was very responsive to messages and the condo looked directly out to the lake and was lovely. The bunkhouse is located just inside the front door with a sliding door that allows separation and privacy. The main bedroom is spacious and comfortable with a ceiling fan. There are portable fans for the unit, a screen door on the deck and screened windows so although the unit wasn’t air conditioned we were comfortable! The main area has a pull out sofa bed. The amenities at the resort were fabulous. It’s an easy walk to town (great take out and eat in restaurants) or the Lakehouse Restaurant (which was especially delicious) and a short drive to wineries. The rest of the time we cooked at the condo (which was equipped with everything we needed, including a dishwasher. The only thing that I missed having was a spice/herb rack (although there was the basic oil/salt/pepper) and basic condiments (ketchup/mustard) and kitchen tongs. That’s on me though because I didn’t ask in advance. It has everything else you need including utensils, a coffee maker, bullet blender for smoothies, a bbq and a microwave and cleaning supplies. The beds were comfortable with good sheets and pillows. There were lots of spaces plus a closer fill of towels (indoor and beach/pool) and a stacking washer/dryer which made life easy! We spent the majority of our time at the lake or on the resort grounds. Having easy access to tennis, volleyball, disc golf, the playground and indoor pool (1 hour per person per day) was great when we needed a break from lake time. There’s comfortable beach chairs at the beach, which wasn’t crowded so we always had access. There’s also tables with umbrellas just above the beach to comfortably enjoy the outdoors and take a break from the sun. With the set up of the grounds it’s easy to keep younger & older kids entertained and occupied. And more than enough for an adult only trip too. We spent most days swimming out to the dock and and enjoying the diving board and slide. There’s a kayak included with the unit and other owners offered us use of theirs too. We brought paddle boards and floaty toys that we stored at the beach for the week. Plus a bin of shared beach and diving toys to share. There’s Everyone - owners and renters - were super friendly and my kids and I all made new friends we hope to see again next summer! Highly recommend!
