One of a kind seven-acre property in Shelby Forest, surrounded by state park just outside of Memphis! Who doesn’t love the peace and quiet of a natural setting, with hiking, fishing, hunting, frisbee golf, and more right at your door? You are also 10 minutes from Millington - home of the USA Stadium.
The space
Uniquely beautiful and perfect for those that enjoy the outdoors, Memphis guest are a mere 20-minute drive from the city. But don’t let the drive fool you…as you enter Shelby Forest, you’ll be amazed at the luxurious feel of this ranch-style single-level home.
The expansive enclosed front porch welcomes you, just begging for you to take in the sounds of nature while you enjoy your morning coffee. A comfortable living room with flat-screen tv, fully equipped kitchen, and dining for six makes country living a respite from the city. For some quiet time, enjoy the sitting room with windows to view the wildlife habitat.
The master bedroom en suite features a king size bed and walk-in shower. The second bedroom has a queen bed and a shared bath, and the third bedroom has double bunk beds. It’s the ideal weekend retreat or long-term stay if you’re looking for something unique in the Memphis area.
Guest access
You have the whole house. There is another home nextdoor without a fence separating that is rented by a long term tenant.
The land in the back is a forest like setting. We have been told that snakes could be living there. We have not observed this but advise you to be careful if you decide to explore.
The Shelby Forest area is popular for hunting and this will be allowed on our land during season. Please know that you may hear hunting noises (guns) during your stay.
There is a camera in the entryway of the garage and the front door. This is for safety purposes.

Summary: Was in town for watching grandson play baseball. This house was great location for our stay. Clean house owner easy to work with. The house is so roomy and loved the morning visit from the chickens and Guinea-fowls.

Summary: Family was there for a baseball tournament. 15 minutes from the USA Stadium and all the restaurants. Clean and peaceful. We liked it so much we booked it ahead for all our tournaments there in Millington.

Summary: The home is nice and spacious as listed in photos. A couple things hurt our experience that I think could really be addressed and fixed. The listing needs to be updated. The home next door on the property is not empty. As a resident lives there, to our surprise. Another was the amount of cameras listed was one or two, but there was more like 6 or 7. There is a motion sensor in the living room for security, but when I asked the host about all of the cameras and if there were only exterior cameras, the host did not know about the other cameras or motion sensor. We were all in shock. She called a former tenant and then told us they had been there and were not active. Also keys to multiple doors hang in the back door. If someone wanted to copy a key and slip back in whenever they have the opportunity. I felt it was a security issue. Most homes I’ve rented has keypads. And maybe it wouldn’t have bothered me as much if the host knew more of what was going on with the home. The home was clean, comfortable, and overall a good stay. The host did communicate well. I just wish the unexpected surprises wouldn’t have made us uneasy.

Summary: We stayed for a long weekend with family from Texas. The house is exactly as described. The little one had plenty of room to play and loved his bunked room. Convenient to the city. Very quiet neighborhood. Would definitely stay again.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay in the Shelby Forrest, a wooded area outside of Memphis. A nice secluded home surrounded by trees, fireflies and frogs made for a relaxing stay. The house is clean and comfortable.

Summary: We traveled to TN for a family function and this property was the perfect place to have as our home base. The bedrooms were large enough so no one felt cramped. Throughout the house here we’re differ seating venues so there was plenty of space for our two families to “visit” and catch up on what’s happened in the last couple of years and the kitchen had all the cooking/eating utensils necessary for our family style breakfasts. Also the hosts did a wonderful job of letting you know they were available without being intrusive. The house has a very homey feel and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as much as we did!

Summary: We had such a nice time at this property. We were in Millington for baseball, the USA stadium is only 15 minutes away. It’s so nice to not have to stay at a hotel during travel baseball season and this place did not disappoint. We had 7 people in our group and there was plenty of space for everyone. The space was very clean and spacious. The screened in porch was a big hit with the grandparents and kids. We will definitely be booking here again.
