Summary: It was nothing real fancy, but very quiet, relaxing and room was comfortable. It was at the very end of the island, so very little traffic and uncrowded beach. Unfortunately the bar/restaurant was closed both days we were there but could easily access other places via Uber or Uber Eats.

Summary: While the location is perfect the facilities could use a little love….peeling paint in bathrooms, leaks around balcony doors and windows in common areas as well as what looked to be a roof leak directly in front of the reception desk. First night there we had no bedding for the sofa bed as they “ran out”. We did get it the next day but what lodging facility runs out of bedding? Complementary coffee in the lobby would be a welcome addition. While we enjoyed family time I doubt we would rebook simply due to the maintenance needed to the facilities.

Summary: The room that was booked had several deficiencies. The microwave didn’t work, nor did the TV in the bedroom. The floors were filthy. They had not been swept or mopped. The kitchen cabinets had old food stained on them. There were several lights burnt out in both the living/dining space as well as the bathrooms and bedroom. Overall, if I had spent more time in the room it would have been very unpleasant. Also, the overall cleanliness of the building itself could have been better especially since there have been renovations recently. I had previously only heard nice things about the resort however, after my experience I would not recommend staying there.

Summary: Phenomenal little escape for my family and I for a brief weekend. Definitely recommend bringing bikes to explore the area and enjoy the board walk area without worrying about parking.

Summary: Pool is way too small for the amount of people staying. Our first room was horrible! Thank goodness the resort found us other accommodations. The resort itself could use a bit of touch up. If real flowers can’t be planted just use greenery instead of plastic flowers. My first impression was it was unclean. Thrown together decor. We left a day early. Not sure I’d recommend to a friend. No dishcloths. Had to use washcloths to was my dishes. Take pride in what they have!

Summary: Nice hotel. Friendly people. Really enjoyed our stay. SIR restaurant was very good with tasty meals. Love the tiki bar by the pool where you can order food from also.

Summary: You are paying for the location, right on the beach at the end of the barrier island. The building is older. All suites face the beach, all units are individually owned, which means some may be nicer than others. Ours needed a major overhaul. Wrightsville, NC is a great area, and we enjoyed our stay but the Shell Beach Resort needs a major facelift.

Summary: In the first room that we stayed room 314 was okay, but I noticed and also my wife did also, a foul smell near the dinette table that seemed to be a smell of animal feces which was a turn off. It was a faint smell that could be smelled off and on. Otherwise everything was okay.
