Positive: Large, stylish rooms with a comfortable bed and seating area. Small balcony to look out at the harbour or sea. Bathroom and toilet were well equipped. Free parking right outside. Convenient if you're driving up to see the castle ruins.

Negative: Not recommended for solo travellers - intended primarily for Japanese families and friend groups. If you aren't visiting for the onsen/spa facilities, there's no point paying the significant cost to stay here. No breakfast option given on Booking's site. Location is a few km from Sumoto, so car or taxi is required.

Positive: View from the room and onsen are beautiful. The room look exactly like the photo.

Negative: It start raining around evening time. As the onsen is not fully indoor, the rain water came into the onsen. Unable to dine in at last minute request, need prior reservation.

Positive: There was a roof top onsen, and I could see the night skies. Free parking, definitely need a car to get there. A stay there allows you to use onsens at their sister hotels/ryokans. Unfortunately we didn't have time to check these onsens. Breakfast was good with lots of varieties. Room was spacious. We enjoyed our stay.

Negative: Hotels at Awaji Island are generally a little pricey.

Summary: Nice stay with good breakfast though a little pricey
