NUMBER 5 - THE OVERLOOK! The name speaks for itself, as it "Overlooks" the beautiful rolling acres of Hocking Hills, Ohio. There was no other name that seemed to fit. The design of this home is much like a beach house in the sense that we’ve placed the kitchen and all the living area onto the second floor so that it is elevated and has the best views. On the first floor are the bedrooms, laundry room, and access to the outdoor fire pit.
The Overlook features 3 bedrooms (one a bunk room), 1.5 baths, and a hot tub. It is enough space to host 7-8 people.

Three bedrooms; 1 queen size bed with lofted twinXL above & 2 full size beds
One full bathroom & One half bathroom
Gas fireplace
Full kitchen stocked with cookware & serving dishes

The Overlook is the second Box Hop build that was completed on the 75 acres (a different parcel than the original 3 box hops). The house it tucked right up beside a cliff face and at one of the highest points near the entrance of the property. As you wind into the beautiful scenery of the 75 acres, you immediately start the climb to the Overlook.
We have created trail maps so that you are welcome to hike the property and find all the treasures it beholds. There are rock cliffs, caves, crevasses and even a large waterfall just steps away from the front door.

Pet Policy: we allow up to 2 dogs at this property. Tenant shall remit to Host a pet fee in the amount of One hundred and No/100 Dollars ($100.00) for pet(s) on the Premises, which is due and payable at the same time and by the same method as Tenant’s payment of Rent. We ask that you keep your dogs off of furniture, don't leave them unattended at the house and clean up any waste.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our recent two night stay at The Overlook. The property is gorgeous and was stocked with all the supplies we needed for our getaway. They have thought of everything and supply very thoughtful extra touches as well. My husband and I were there with our two adult children and we had more than enough space to spread out. We cooked our own meals and the kitchen was stocked with all of the cooking supplies we needed. There are restaurants, wineries, and a brewery close by too. The property has trails to hike around and is also close to Hocking Hills State Park as well as. We're already wanting to plan a stay at one of the other Box Hop properties because they all look so beautiful and unique. I highly recommend booking a stay with them.

Summary: I've stayed at the OG several times in recent years and had great experiences, but I think that the Overlook as a property is even better in terms of layout and space. All of the bedrooms are on the entry level, and then all of the common space (kitchen included) is upstairs opening to a good-sized, scenic deck area plus jacuzzi above and firepit below. Great views from all spots, and lots of windows everywhere, including several facing the large rock that abuts the structure on one side. ! The living room/kitchen area is spacious and inviting, and all of the details in terms of design, quality and comfort are as thoughtful as you might expect if you've stayed at any of the Box Hop houses before. The pics of the house on the site here are lovely, but the real thing is better. The only negatives IMO were lack of a second full bathroom (not a huge deal for our group, which was only there for 2 nights) and the driveway being quite narrow without an easy turnaround to avoid a rather tight back-up all the way down the hill. Still, these are very minor issues and wouldn't deter me from rebooking. I definitely look forward to staying at the Overlook again in the future.

Summary: My impression is relaxing, warm, cozy. If you're looking for a getaway from life, kids, work, and need a romantic spot to connect with your spouce or partner this is the perfect place to do so. I enjoyed two nights here with my husband, just to unwind, relax and connect with eachother. It was a great experience, smooth, and really enjoyable. Id recommend this place again. Im sure the summer time would feel and be even more enjoyable being anle to be out on the balcony and have a fire. Id even suggest bringing friends and family here as its such a cool and fun spot and have lots of yummy restaurants near by and fun activities to do with your family. The host were top notch at providing all information and a guide that walks you through any questions or problems that could come up! 10/10 recommend. Thanks for the wonderful experience.
