Summary: Good location but be aware of street dogs in nearby streets. Hotel was basic, nothing luxurious, but rooms have nice terraces behind their back door. Check in was a mess as there was no one available and doors locked when I arrived, but they compensated it with free late check out which was really nice. One thing I didn't like they knocked doors very early in the morning to ask if I already want to have breakfast and this wasn't nice when I wanted to sleep. Rooms are already kinda noisy when everything is heard through windows from hotel area to running chickens. Breakfast was very limited: bread, cereals, local pancakes, fruits, coffee, tea and juice.

Summary: The online photos are not what you get when you arrive. Simon's Place is more of a motel. For the price it might be what you can expect. The rooms are very outdated, no TV, no chair to sit on, the mattress is old and not comfortable. Windows are slat windows and not secure. Lock on the door is not going to keep anyone out. No safe to put your belongings in. Breakfast was toast and juice with some fruit. With that said, we did enjoy our time and the staff were friendly. I would hope they staff would update their online photos and be more truthful of what you will experience.

Summary: Airport shuttle worked well. Hotel in need of upgrade. Broken locks on doors, tv didn't work. Needs an overall upgrade.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay at Simon's Place, however there are a few areas that we feel the owners may want to address: 1. Carpets in the rooms – The carpets in the rooms appear quite worn and would benefit from either replacement or a thorough dry clean. We stayed in two rooms and also saw another room booked by friends, and the condition was similar across them. 2. Televisions in the rooms – Adding TVs in the rooms would improve the guest experience. 3. Breakfast options – It would be great to see more substantial breakfast options available, such as eggs or bacon, rather than the current limited selection. 4. Airport transfer communication – It would be helpful to clearly inform guests in advance if there are transfer charges for airport pick-ups. After several unanswered emails, this came as a surprise. Front desk customer service – Unfortunately, we experienced an interaction with desk staff that felt lacking in empathy, faka'apa'apa (respect), and tauhi vā (maintaining respectful relationships). When we were asked to pay $50 for a late check-out for my father on the final day—while we were attending family funeral arrangements—the situation was handled in a way that felt dismissive and was followed by laughter with other staff, which was disappointing. We share this feedback in the spirit of helping improve the experience for future guests.
