Positive: A great location right in the centre of the village. The onsen pass was provided for the entire duration of our stay and covered all 7 Onsens. Yakata was provided in our rooms (you can go to reception & ask for different colours aswell) and geta are waiting at reception for you to explore town. They make up your bed and take it down the next day whilst you are out.

Negative: Everything was amazing. Found the sleeping mat quite hard but it is to be expected staying at a traditional Ryokan.

Positive: Nice location and beautiful room. Helpful staff. Onsen right downstairs. It was the largest room of all my hotels in Japan. Beautiful hotel

Negative: At my age, sleeping on a futon on the floor was very comfortable. It was a good experience and won’t ned to do that again.

Negative: Don’t confuse the annex house with the actual house (annex cones first on left side and Google maps says you arrived at your destination- actual house is a few meters farther on the right side)

Positive: The food was all novel to me as an American and fun to explore. The baths were nice.

Negative: I would have liked a more thorough explanation of what was available to me at check-in time, like the sandals and baskets for the spas. I didn't like the harsh lighting in the room but that didn't impact my stay very much.
