Positive: We were hardly in the condo since the event we were attending kept us busy and the easy access to Main Street & Ski lift also attributed to our being out. The property was more than adequate for us - a cozy, comfortable, convenient, and warm haven. I had mistakenly thought there were 2 bathrooms instead of 1 but the bathroom is conveniently separated into 2 areas: A) an entry space with vanity & chair opposite a counter sink, outside of B) the door to the toilet & bath/shower room so it was easy for the 3 of us to share the space. Parking was always easy & keyless entry is the way to go! Access to the ski lift is only a few yards away. Best of all the host was very welcoming & responsive to our minor inquiries, minor because the text communications prior to our stay were very detailed & informative.
Negative: We live in the mountains of northern NM and are familiar with snow and ice, but we were out in it more frequently on foot during our stay in Red River. It was difficult traversing the streets, especially as the melt during the day would freeze at night making sidewalks & streets hazardous. Of course, this isn't the fault of the property/owner, but a caution for visitors to wear boots with good tread & walk like a penguin (flatfooted) :-) around town when visiting in winter. One in our group slipped and is now hunting for new boots with better tread & traction!

Positive: The location was perfect for our family, the host was incredibly helpful. We love Red River and have stay at other condos. However, we plan on returning to the same condo next year!

Negative: The unit was overfilled with heavy furniture that was hard to get around. Only 2 chairs at the kitchen table were usable as you could not pull the bench back to sit on it as it was blocked by a fireplace.

Positive: The owner was fabulous. Amy welcomed us as soon as we made a booking, provided useful information about the property & Red River. Shortly before our arrival and after, she provided additional information & followed up on our stay. Upon entering the property, it was a nice surprise to have a box of firewood ready to go. Red River Retreat was adequately stocked with the necessary kitchen items (even including a crockpot & 2 types of coffee machines). The beds were comfortable. The location couldn't be better. It is extremely close to the base of the main lift, definitely walkable with your skis & behind our favorite night time stop, The Brewery. Don't worry, the apartment faces the mountain so there is no night time noise and actually, it is pretty cool because you can see the slopes being groomed at night. If you are looking for a convenient location, stocked with everything that you need while on vacation, with a very helpful owner, this is a perfect place for you.
