Slatyfork Homestead is a charming 5 bed/3 bath farmhouse located in Slatyfork Farms. Only a short drive to Snowshoe Mountain and the Greenbrier River Trail, you can experience the tranquility of nature while still being close to all the fun and adventure.
Enjoy the great outdoors with the expansive 2-acre yard, secluded pond, and two charming porches!
On the main level, you will find a spacious foyer, a cozy living area complete with a fireplace, a dining space that can accommodate 10 guests, a well-stocked kitchen, a laundry room, as well as a bedroom and a full bathroom.
On the second floor, you will find 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, which includes a master suite! Each bedroom is furnished with a queen bed, and one of the bedrooms also has a twin bed for added convenience.
Minutes away from the Highland Scenic Highway, you can enjoy day trips to all the activities Pocahontas County has to offer!
*Please note there is a private apartment on the back of the house that is inaccessible to guests. The private apartment does not have access to the main house.
**Please Note: Snowshoe Mountain Resort temporarily closes from mid-October to Thanksgiving every year for transition from mountain bike season to ski season. It is a beautiful area to explore and plenty of outdoor adventures anytime of the year, but please know amenities will be limited. Please contact us with any questions.
A Few Notes to Mention
Snowshoe Mountain Resort is known as the Island in the Sky, providing top-rated amenities and entertainment at an elevation of 4848 feet in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. Due to its location, there is no cell service within an hour from Snowshoe, and WIFI in the Village may be unreliable. Please be sure to have directions and contact numbers prior to traveling.

Summary: House was very convenient distance from Snowshoe. Property manager was very attentive to several questions and issues that arose during the stay. The property had a large infestation of Japanese beetles/lady bugs. Also found mice droppings in the drawers and a bag of food was chewed up while we were at the house.

Summary: The location was beautiful and quiet. We were looking for an older home with charm, so this fit the bill for our group of eight. The downstairs bed / bath worked well for 80+ year old dad with arthritic knees. The bedroom suite upstairs was helpful for the older couple with us too, for privacy and nighttime bathroom trips. We all appreciated the stock of flavored coffee and the hot chocolate in the kitchen! Loved the fact that we could all convene comfortably in both dining room and living room. Our only complaint was not the home, but the search for open restaurants in October. Found the cozy “Snowshoe Hare” coffee shop too late to fully enjoy. Kickin’ Chicken was quite good, though. Had fun!

Summary: This was such a great property for a multi generation ski vacation. The house has so much history and was super spacious. It is close to snowshoe and made going back and forth a breeze. It was well stocked with everything we needed. Phil and Lisa (the housekeepers) live next door and take care of anything you need while at the house. The bedrooms are huge compared to other Air B&B's where we've stayed.
