Helton Creek Guest Cabin is a 1 bedroom, 1 bath, 300 sq ft cabin, perfect for a quiet week or weekend on a state maintained trout stream, Helton Creek. Just imagine fishing on the creek, then grilling out or relaxing in the wonderful hot tub while listening to the creek music. The back porch is a stone's throw from the creek. In the winter you can sit in the hot tub and watch the creek go by and in the summer, there is enough shade to relax on the porch and feel the cool breeze, build a fire in the fire pit, or try your luck at catching a nice trout for dinner.
This guest cabin is great for the extended family or a couple/family who may want to rent it by itself at more reasonable rates, with or without renting the main cabin. It features 1 bedroom (queen bed), 1 bath, a queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room, and kitchenette with all utensils, hot plate, coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave/ large convection oven. DISH TV, Wifi Internet, and phone are included. The hot tub on the private deck is available year round.
There is a fire pit between the cabin and creek with firewood provided. Additional firewood is available under the back deck of the big cabin 30 yds. away.

Summary: Location was great, nice and secluded on the river. Unit was clean but I did notice a few dead wasps in the kitchen sink area. When I stayed it was cold overnight (20’s) and regulating the temperature was difficult. There is a propane stove but running it makes the cabin way too hot and turning it off before bed and using the space heater made it very cold at 5AM. The hot tub worked great but it switched to Spanish and locked me out. I looked through directions and couldn’t find a solution. Overall my stay was good.

Summary: This cabin was exactly as expected, cute and quaint. Perfect for two people. The creek in the back was the best ever. It was so great just to go walk in it. The location was great. We were looking for some seclusion, but we weren’t far from Lansing, West Jefferson or Grayson Highland Park. It was a perfect set up for bringing our dog. The wrap around deck had a gate so we felt completely relaxed, letting our dog wander around on the deck without fear of him getting out. We will definitely come back.

Summary: The only complaint I have is there was dog hair on the floor, couch and rugs. The refrigerator wasn't wiped out and clean. The drawer the silverware was in needed cleaning and cabinets needed to be wiped out.

Summary: This was our second time staying here. We did enjoy our stay, however this cabin could use a little love. It's not being cleaned well & could use an exterminator to help with bugs. (Not roaches) just typical wooded area bugs. We would consider staying again, as I'm sure the owner is paying someone close to clean & may not be aware of the rush job being done
