We acknowledge that Smiling Acres is not for everyone as we do have mud when it rains and bugs in the summer and this is a basement apartment. Our property has been described as feeling like going to Grandmas. We embrace a come as you are attitude and will do our best to make your stay a pleasant one. We are close enough to town for pizza delivery yet far enough out for the country living experience. Summary: Great location, close to everything but quiet and away from the all too many traffic lights that are so needlessly prevalent in a town that shouldn't have this many. Perfect place for two people.

Summary: This apartment was just what I needed for a short stay while doing some work at St. Olaf College. Even though the property feels remote, is only a 20-minute drive to the school and even less to downtown Northfield and Carlton College. The unit was clean, nicely furnished and very private. The bed is super comfortable and the kitchen has all the necessary features. Proprietor Julie is friendly and a good communicator. I would highly recommend the place for anyone wanting an inexpensive but nice place to stay in the area.

Summary: This was such a nice get away. Quiet place to relax and unwind. The bed was comfortable and the place was decorated very cute. Beyond expectations as far as accommodations.

Summary: My husband and I needed a place to stay while in Faribault for the State Baseball tournament. This property was perfect! Just a 5 minute drive from the ball park, yet completely rural, with no other houses around. The downstairs area where we stayed was perfect...quiet bedroom, bathroom, living area and kitchen were all very sufficient! Julie met me as soon as I drove up, showed me around, and was available for any of our needs. I highly recommend this property!

Summary: Julie is an incredible host! Listing described the house accurately, so we knew what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised with extras such as snacks and smart TVs with easy Netflix access. We ended up hanging out with Julie in the barn and grabbed coffee together the next morning. The entire experience felt extremely private and the farm was quite peaceful. This place is a bang for your buck and you might leave having made a new friend!
