Positive: Absolutely loved our stay at SOIL Setoda! Such a great complex, a very beautiful room, and the VIEW! The food at the restaurant was truly fantastic, and the reception staff were so lovely and helpful when we missed the bus connection from Setoda Parking – lifesaver. We wished we could have stayed longer. We'll be back! (Oh, and the recommendation of the local sento was terrific, what a place! So good to have a sauna as well.)

Negative: Family room very tight for 4 people Difficult access to upper bunks unless you’re a kid

Positive: Beautiful hotel and room. Really stylish and clean. Location is great. Latte and breakfast from the restaurant was good.

Negative: The soundproofing is almost non-existent: you can hear conversations from neighboring rooms, people walking in the hallway, doors slamming… it’s impossible to have any peace and quiet. It's on top of a restaurant and after closing at 9pm, the music continues, then you can clearly hear dishes and glasses being put away for a long time, as well as staff talking loudly among themselves. In the morning, preparations for the café start again as early as 6:30am. As a result, the night was very poor and it was nearly impossible to sleep properly. Over 30,000 yen per night is already a high price for a room with shared bathrooms, but the most basic expectation from a hotel is to be able to rest which is unfortunately not the case here. If you are looking for a quiet stay, this is not it. Very poor value for money. Also we were told a reservation for breakfast was not necessary but when arriving in the morning we could not sit at some tables because they were reserved which we found a bit strange...
