A picturesque, rural hamlet is Powfoot village, on the West Coast of Scotland, with a long history as a seaside resort, a designated area of outstanding beauty.
Shore side detached holiday cottage for two, open plan living dining, king size bedroom, en suite, bath, shower, private dining terrace with bbq, affords complete privacy, footsteps from the beach, 2 excellent pub restaurants and golf course.
Perfectly located for privacy and comfort. The cottage is footsteps from the shore, seven minute drive from the nearest town, the Royal Burgh of Annan.

The starling murmurations are spectacular, a natural wonderment, over the Solway Bay. A wide range of wading birds, barnacle geese, whooper swans, and the foreshore home to the endangered Natterjack Toad. Walking, climbing, hiking, cycling, fishing, and golf at the excellent Powfoot Course. A perfect escape for those that wish to retreat the hustle and bustle.
Journey from the western side of the historic Roman Hadrians Wall to the breath taking scenery of the lake district, indulge in a romantic castle or retrace the footsteps of Robert Burns, this area has many attractions. There is a twice daily bus service from outside the cottage into the nearby, town of Annan, and an excellent outlet shopping trip to Gretna Gateway.
The Solway Firth runs along the south coast of Dumfries & Galloway and provides 200 miles of coastline, perfect for a gentle stroll or picnic. The finest ways to explore this part of Scotland is on foot. Take a walk along one of Dumfries & Galloway’s tranquil beaches and admire the truly stunning natural beauty that surrounds you. From Powfoot to Port Logan in the west, there is a wide range of picture perfect beaches. Follow the Solway Coast Heritage Trail, a charming 200 mile route that takes you along the Solway Coast, past many of Dumfries & Galloway’s coastal towns and villages. Historic castles and ruins, museums, beaches, quaint towns and seaside villages such as Kippford and Rockcliffe.

Summary: Great little house, every amenity you could wish for. Clean, tidy, modern with everything you will need. It even has 4 drawers of DVD's for those wet days that you can't go out. Fantastic.

Summary: We had a lovely one night break in this great wee cottage. Fab location next to the beach and hotel and was very tastefully furnished throughout. Would definitely book again !

Summary: We stayed for 3 nights and were looking for a picturesque location and it didn’t disappoint. The weather was fantastic too. The cottage is well equipped with everything you would have at home. The little terrace was the perfect sun trap. The owner was very thoughtful by leaving a welcome pack that included a bottle of wine, milk, some chocolates, biscuits etc. There were also extras in the bathroom such as toothbrush, razor, comb etc. I forgot my toothbrush so this definitely came in handy. We had a fantastic time at Shore Cottage in Powfoot and would definitely come back. NB, book early(probably prior to your visit)for dinner in the Powfoot Hotel which is relight to cottage, they were fully booked for the whole week.

Summary: This wee place is just perfect for our needs. The location is ideal, in a beautiful village by the Solway. The property is small but very well appointed, especially the kitchen. The furnishings are modern and well laid out. The outdoor area is a wonderful little sun trap, surrounded by birds in the bushes. The host, Elaine, was very promptly communicative and provided all of information required and more. We hope we can stay again next time we’re in the area!

Summary: Great little cottage, beautifully decorated with everything that you might need in a quaint seaside village with an attentive host. The outside seating area is a lovely spot to relax and enjoy an evening drink and meal. An evening stroll through Powfoot and along the coast was a highlight. Lunchtime Picnics at Caerlaverock basking in the sunshine and taking in the tranquil atmosphere Thoroughly recommend.
