Positive: Big house.

Negative: Near impossible to get a taxi, the hot tub smelled bad so we couldn't use it, and not much nightlife in the town. Very spacious home- no toilet paper was stocked. Also impossible to reach an actual human with questions about anything, and finally, if you want a late check out, make sure you do it before actually arriving because then it is no longer an option.

Positive: Overall, the home was very cute and nicely decorated. We liked the cozy common area (+ big cozy couch), the location was great, and the amount of serveware / dishware / cookware was very nice (I just wish they were clean). I also loved the fact that it had a hot tub, although there was no light out there (that we were able to find) in order to navigate enjoying it at night.

Negative: As one of three families traveling on this trip, booking a house large enough to hold us all, and with the ability to bring our family dogs were our two priorities when looking for a vacation rental. Meeting this criteria is the reason we chose to book with SoMoguly and unfortunately we were pretty let down in this regard. It put a pretty bad taste my mouth out of the gate to see that the property was listed as "pet friendly", with the only other information mentioned being that "pets are allowed upon request. Charges may apply". Other than that, no other information was included in the listing regarding pets and there was no avenue in which to reach out to the company and inquire what these potential costs could be prior to booking. AFTER we booked (our non-refundable stay at SoMoguly), I was then informed that there was a not only a $200 fee PER dog, but a maximum of two dogs allowed. Which as a group we exceed this criteria and now, being locked into our non-refundable rental, the two other families and my own were all forced to find pet sitters last minute the week of a holiday which did nothing but add stress to what was supposed to be a relaxing and fun vacation. I understand putting a cap on the allotted number of pets, and I also understand a homeowner's concern regarding potential damage and need to cover themselves if that were to occur. However, covering damage was one of the things we are asked to sign and take responsibility for separately on the rental contract after booking whether we brought pets or not. Regardless, this is information that needed to be made clear in the property listing PRIOR to booking. It seems as though this is either their strategy to discourage people to bring their pets, which would render listing it as a "pet friendy" property pointless, or a greedy move made by the property management company (or homeowner) in order to pocket a few more dollars on a listing.
