Summary: The description of “just a step above camping” is very accurate. The cabin is very simple and gets the job done. We loved the location. There is a beautiful bay at the end of the street with a small boardwalk you can enjoy. We loved the bike trails that are right there and will take you all over the cape. We loved the close proximity to the gorgeous beaches, and Cape San Blas is a true gem. The cabin has a great air conditioner that works very well. We enjoyed sitting on the front, screened-in porch. Bring a fan with you to enjoy it a little bit more. All appliances worked well. The Weber grill outside is great and we enjoyed cooking on it. There’s a deep freezer on the front porch that was super convenient. The shower is hot. Towels and sheets seemed clean and we slept well in the beds. The TV has limited channels but it was plenty for us. The cabin does not seem well maintained nor clean. It is purely functional and nothing is fancy or overly attractive. Don’t forget plenty of big protection. It’s got a nice secluded, woodsy feel but that of course brings lots of bugs. Also, bring your own dish washing soap. There is none in the kitchen.

Summary: I could not have loved this little cabin more. Loved the private location, the trails around it, the easy access to the bay on its own little boardwalk. It was very clean and functional, not posh, perfect for us. Quick relaxing trip from Nashville to fish and scallop. Away from hubbub, perfect.

Summary: My husband, two grandchildren and I spent 5 days at this cabin. It is rustic and clean. It has the essentials. A window unit keeps the main area cool, but the kitchen area stays warm. We brought a fan with us and was able to stay comfortable.

Summary: We took our three and four year old grandsons on a short beach getaway, and I was looking for something inexpensive and close to the beach....which is what we received! As a business owner, I know the value of reviews and customer satisfaction, so I hesitate to leave a bad review, so this is more of an experience review. I was raised camping in tents and cabins, and this is very much a rustic cabin with well water, probably a high iron content in the water because of the smell of the water. The place is very over grown and there are mice all through the area, however not inside the cabin itself....at least not that we saw! The owners did leave plenty of notifications of raccoons in the area and how they would get into any food if left outside or on the patio....so we always kept things picked up, no coolers or trash outside at all! The one thing the notice didn’t say was that there is a raccoon that has made his home inside the attic space and that he was bigger than our 4 year old grandson! We heard him scratching around during the middle of the night one night and we thought he was inside the kitchen area. I’ve never been so uncomfortable and fearful of an animal as I was at that time. Needless to say we didn’t sleep much. We wrote that off to a one time happening, and possibly even birds or bats....Then the next day, we saw him around 6pm climb up the side of the cabin and disappear towards the rear of the place, and then heard him inside again. At that point we decided to try to find a different place to try to rent as we were leaving the next morning, but everything was sold out and didn’t want to make the 6 hour drive back home at such a late hour with our grandsons. We cancelled our evening plans because I was afraid to come in after dark. We slept in shifts and were so afraid he was going to climb down the scuttle hole and into the cabin. It was terrible! Other than the Racoon issue, the cabin floors were dirty, but the sheets and towels seemed clean. I swept and mopped the floors, but was not impressed that I had to pay a cleaning fee, and also was not excited with the sign in the kitchen to inform as to why things were washed but not sanitized, as they are exempt from that requirement. Also, the front door lock was not very secure, as there was just the door knob lock, no deadbolt. All in all, if you’re ok with wildlife in very close proximity, if your ok with camping, you will enjoy this! Bring the off!!

Summary: Interior: Nice rustic cabin. Was very clean. Plenty of room for the 2 of us and our small dog. The microwave was functional but the rotating element was missing and broken. The fan over the dinette is out of balance and vibrates the whole cabin. Exterior: Two words- forestry mulcher. The outside of the cabin is badly overgrown. With bushes, brush and weeds right up to the cabin. We had rain during our stay, which turned the outside into a swamp. Property needs work.
