South Lodge is a refurbished and immaculately maintained 2 bedroom timbered cottage with comfortable and spacious living spaces and excellent facilities. Sleeps 4. Bedrooms: 2x double (or 1 double, 1 twin - your choice), single shared bathroom. Full kitchen inc. fan oven, grill, fridge, dishwasher, crockery, cutlery, washer-dryer. Lounge with corner sofa, Freeview TV & DVD player, conservatory, private garden overlooking the fields. Free Parking on site. Free fibre broadband Wi-Fi.

Summary: This cottage is so sweet! Situated on a beautiful lane just outside the village the house was clean and cosy. The sunset view over the fields was stunning and we enjoyed seeing the little squirrels bouncing about the garden collecting acorns. Would happily recommend staying here but it is a bit too far from the township to walk to pubs for dinner. J & G. NEWCASLTE NSW. AUSTRALIA

Summary: South Lodge is in a very quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, but within easy walking distance of Finchingfield village by public footpath. The village is very pretty and well served with places to eat. The Lodge is small but more than adequate, and is very comfortable with everything you could need provided. There are lovely walks directly from the front door, following designated footpaths across the estate, and this made our stay with our dog very easy. A thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing week.

Summary: Just returned from a stay in this excellent cottage. It was lovely, clean and airy. Everything we needed was available for our stay. We really enjoyed the conservatory which was lovely and warm when too cold to sit outside which overlooked open fields and completely detached which we liked. It was enjoyable to see some rabbits just outside the garden and also saw a fox walking across by the fence twice. Some nice walks from the cottage through part of the estate and almost a mile to walk into Finchingfield, where we had a meal at the Fox which was very nice. Finchingfield is a beautiful village with a duck pond and a windmill which also had other pubs and places to eat. Although gets busy on Saturday and Sunday. Really enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

Summary: Peaceful location and a short walk to the village which is a lovely place to ‘chill-out’. The cottage has a well-equipped kitchen. Off-road parking for two cars. Secure garden to let children or pets to run around. Perfect place to recharge your batteries.
