Only 2 miles from downtown Breckenridge but just far away enough that you can see the Milky Way at night sitting in the hot tub. If you are one of our families returning year after year or a new group that has never visited Breckenridge, we look forward to making our home, yours.

The space
The saying goes, we come for the winters but stay for the summers. This makes the Space Wrangler Lodge a year round destination retreat. Over 4400 square ft compound to explore nestled in National Forrest and Aspen trees. Rest in the hot tub or roasting mallows by the fire pit in the summertime. 2 master suites with en suites, Sprawling private deck, 2 huge kitchens, 2 living rooms & Bar/Game Room, Full size Studio Piano, indoor hammock and copper hammered soaking tub are just a few of the perks here!

The entire home is at your disposal as well as a sprawling outdoor deck private hot tub nestled in Aspen trees and outdoor fire pit should you desire to roast some mallows under the stars in the summer. One garage space and plenty of driveway parking available. The town provides a free bus shuttle that runs throughout the year. Buses will also shuttle your bikes in the summer.

Summary: JD was very responsive when we reached out with any questions. We used the hot tub everyday to relax after a being on the hill. We saw moose just down the street and had a fox come through the property every afternoon. Definitely recommend 4 wheel drive in winter. However, the shuttle to town is just down the street if you prefer that. We had people in our group with known difficulty adjusting to altitude and rented an oxygen machine from in town. Would highly recommend if you have any issues with altitude, as it made the trip so much better.

Summary: We enjoyed a mini-family reunion here, and the property nicely accommodated four couples who sometimes wanted to hang out all together and sometimes wanted to spend time apart. I had envisioned more of a "quiet wilderness" feel than the actual setting here with many other homes and vacation homes in earshot, but it was a short walk to the Baldy trail, and a steady stream of foxes came to visit us in the backyard. The second fridge downstairs made it easy to bring canned beverages out to the hot tub, and having access to cable TV allowed us to watch the Olympics together. There were some dishes that had been put away dirty, but once we realized that and ran them back through the dishwasher, all was well. Highly recommend the place for similar groups -- take gingko or aspirin before arriving so you don't waste the first couple of days feeling ill from altitude!

Summary: Had a great summer stay. Fun to hang out at home out go out to town or other trips. The lifts were closed but we were still able to explore. Fire pit got a lot of use.

Summary: The house itself was nice but our overall stay could have been better. If a location is going to be marketed for up to 14 people, they need to provide for that. There weren’t enough towels for 14 people, so we were all sharing about 10 towels. Toilet paper and paper towels were gone 3/4 of the way through our stay. We reached out to the owner on multiple occasions and never received a response which was disappointing.

Summary: The Space Wrangler was the perfect location for our family getaway. We enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub, shuffleboard and the overall ambience of this spacious home. It was clean, well-appointed, and the host was very responsive. We'd happily stay there again.
