"Twin Gable" is a newly renovated two-bedroom cottage nestled deep in the Allegheny National Forest among towering oak trees near the Allegheny Reservoir. Perfect for those who want to unwind & relax and love spending time outdoors exploring. This spacious home sits on one acre of land with plenty of privacy and wildlife. As you enter you will immediately be drawn inside by the comfort and coziness of the open concept. The rustic, yet elegant feel makes you feel right at home.
This cozy cottage is within a three-minute walk of the Red Oak campground, which for a fee offers a swimming pool, park, summer concerts, and a convenience store. Nearby attractions include multiple golf courses, cross country skiing, hiking, bike trails, ATV and snowmobile trails, hunting, fishing, and boating at the Kinzua Dam and Allegheny River. Within two miles of our cozy abode are boat launches, and the Onoville Marina is approximately seven miles away where you can rent pontoon boats, canoe or kayak. The Allegheny Reservoir offers 91 miles of undeveloped shoreline for a picturesque view on the water or a scenic drive.
This area offers many attractions such as: Kinzua Dam, Longhouse National Scenic Byway, historic Kinzua Bridge/Skywalk (once the 8th wonder of the world), Jakes Rocks, Rim Rock, Rock City Park, Zippo/Case Visitor’s Center/Museum, Lake Erie, Chautauqua Lake and Institute, Bemus Point, NY, Bent Run Falls, Seneca Allegheny Resort & Casino, and many, many wineries and breweries throughout this breathtaking countryside.
This will be the perfect getaway for a peaceful, relaxing stay whether you choose a night in relaxing in front of the fireplace or venture out for an evening sitting around the primitive, stone fire pit listening to the peepers and spotting the many varieties of wildlife (Watch out for Sasquatch!). Summary: Clean and comfortable, although the cleaners forgot about the coffee maker so there was old coffee in it. That was really the only issue, linens and kitchen equipment was adequate and we all enjoyed our stay

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay. It’s a beautiful location , fire wood is provided on site. Just make sure you bring your own axe so you can split it because it’s difficult to buy firewood in the area. Other than that I give it five stars wonderful trip.

Summary: The cabin was beautiful; everything was very neat, clean, and cozy. There was lots to do in the area from floating down the Conewango in kayaks to taste-testing at wineries to shopping with the Amish. Campfires at night to sleeping in and big breakfasts in the well-equipped kitchen. We’d definitely stay again!

Summary: The cottage is located in a large campground but it sits on a large amount of property for privacy. The cottage is fairly large (bigger than your standard cabin) and located near the Allegheny reservoir and many camping/fishing/hiking activities but not within walking distance of them. It has a nice firepit and was peaceful. The only issue was the propane grill has no propane tank so you would have to bring your own, bring your own charcoal grill or cook over the fire.

Summary: Wonderful retreat from the hustle and bustle of life. It was wonderful to sit around the fire at night visiting with family. Plenty of hiking near the house. Fall was in full bloom with the leaves an array of color. Host was fantastic. Definitely worth visiting!
