Summary: This house is amazing. The pictures do not do it justice ! So comfortable all round. Great kitchen - look in all the cupboards and you will find anything you could possibly need. Beds very comfy. Lovely relaxing garden in the back with a little artificial stream. Stayed here with my wife and two adult children. Plenty of space for all. Host responded immediately and was extremely helpful and accommodating. Chester is a wonderful little town with some great restaurants. Several lovely beaches within an hours drive as well as Mahone Bay and Lunenburg. Highly recommend this house and we can’t wait to go back next year !

Summary: My husband and I were returning home to Calgary from a trip to Scotland. We decided to stop over in Nova Scotia for a few nights, and are so glad that we did! The home was spacious, quiet and comfortable. It is in a lovely location in Chester. It is complemented by beautiful balconies and gardens. Pauline is an excellent host. She responded quickly and efficiently to any questions, and provided welcome suggestions for day trips and dining. I have no hesitation in recommending this wonderful home.

Summary: I concur with all of the positive reviews. The house is absolutely beautiful. It is one of the nicest homes we have ever rented. Chester is a cute but small town. With it as home base, you can explore surrounding sights: Peggy’s Cove, Mahone Bay and Lunenburg. For some people, Chester is going to be a challenge, as it is so hilly. But if you have a car, it should not be a problem. By the way, Pauline & Ernie Boute have a web site (emeraldislebeachhouse.ca) which lists the Chester home as well as one in Prince Edward Island.

Summary: The home is well laid out with a spacious kitchen, multiple sitting areas downstairs and bedrooms up. A great choice for families or multiple couples alike as it’s within a short walk to the cafes and restaurants as well as the small park around the corner. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely return next time we come back to Chester.

Summary: My wife and I along with our 3 daughters and their spouses stayed at this paradise for a week. Pauline and her husband were very responsive before, during, and after our stay. This house has everything you could want and exceeded our expectations. You literally only need your food, drinks, and clothing. The kitchen is completely stocked with everything you need to prepare meals. The place has loads of space, is beautiful, and the backyard is an oasis with a BBQ, large patio area, pond, waterfall and gardens. You can walk to everywhere in Chester, and the street is very quiet and private. Short drives find you in Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, or Blue Rocks. The owners maintain this property to a very high level and it shows. This property comes with my highest recommendation.

Summary: Our two families were very comfortable during our week at the lovely Chester Garden House. We were a party of nine including five teenage boys! Lots of room in the house for everyone to spread out in when we needed our own space yet several gathering spots when we wanted to be together (living room, family room and sun room). The eat-in kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed and the separate dining room was appreciated by the adults! Bedrooms were comfortable and there were lots of linens, towels, etc). The house is ideally located for walking to the village of Chester for shops, cafes, pool, park, grocery store). The yard offers a lovely spot to sit and enjoy an outdoor meal or coffee while listening to the frogs in the pond! Lots of day trips are possible (beaches, Tancook Island, Mahone Bay & Lunenburg, kayaking, etc). Our host, Pauline, was very easy to deal with and always reachable. We would definitely recommend this property!

Summary: Our stay at Chester Garden House was very enjoyable. We found dealing with Pauline very easy (she was always responsive to emails etc.) and the house was clean, comfortable (especially the beds), well equipped, (plenty of towels and in the way of kitchen everything one would need) and the house is situated in a wonderful location (walkable to the main street, kids playground and Lido pool) and on a lovely large property. Some great restaurants in town Kiwi (for lunch or breakfast) and The Rope Loft (great view and decent food for a pub! The Haddock was delicious. Would would recommend this house in a heartbeat.
