2 Bedroom Cottage in Pedernec, Pédernec

Kerscanvic Cottage is family friendly, with large gardens to relax and play in, we also have a private, solar heated swimming pool for the sole use of our guests. The cottage sleeps 6, 2 adults and up to 4 children. There is a fully fitted kitchen, microwave, dish washer, washing machine and fridge freezer and a spacious dining area seating six adults. The large lounge has ample room for all the family to relax. There is WIFI internet, 50 inch flat screen TV with Satellite TV and we also have all local channels available. DVD player with various DVDs, CD player with USB port to play your favorite songs and a toy box with goodies to keep the little ones amused. The master double bedroom has beautiful exposed granite walls and beamed ceilings there are double doors leading to the patio. The light and airy second bedroom has a double sized bunk bed below with single bed on top. The front of the cottage has a large patio, barbeque area, large seating area with table and chairs, a grassed garden for the children and a large above ground private swimming pool that is heated with solar panels. To the rear of the property is an enclosed garden, with table and chairs, a perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sun setting behind the hills of the Mene Bre. We also have extended gardens perfect for a game of footy. We are situated in a quiet country lane, but we are 5 minutes drive from the village of Pedernec and 10 minutes drive to the larger medieval town of Guingamp with all amenities and a fabulous selection of restaurants. A three minute drive will take you to Amoury Leisure Park and a 15 minute drive will take you to the Pink Granite Coast with its fantastic scenery and beautiful selection of beaches. The owners of the property are nearby and are available at all times to answer any questions you may have.
We kindly ask out visitors to check in after 2pm and vacate the cottage before 10am.

Summary: Lovely hosts who gave us a very warm welcome. The house is nice located, but for us with kids to far away from the coast. In km it isn't far away,but in reality you are driving 40mins to get to a beach. The reason we booked was for the heated swimming pool. But it is heated with solar panels. As there was no sun during our stay, it was cold. Hence the kids enjoyed it 3 times for 10 mins, as it was to cold to stay longer.

Summary: A very warm welcome awaits you on arrival and a lovely touch from the owners with butter, milk and eggs in the fridge for you!! This cottage has everything you need to make your stay enjoyable, the pool was a hit with our kids and the outdoor space is brilliant. So much to see and do locally that you’ll always find something to do. Out first time in France and we’re pleased we went with this property, a great location with lovely owners who respect you’re space and you’d hardly know were there. Thank you Denise and Les for a lovely stay.

Summary: We had a lovely week staying in Pedernec with our kids. They loved the pool and spent as long in it as possible! Hosts Les and Denise were lovely and helpful. They invited our kids to come and help with their animals - goats, horses, chickens etc, which the kids loved. The accommodation is great - it has a large open living and kitchen, a small bedroom with bunks and a large bedroom for the adults. The adult bed is pretty firm, if you like a soft bed you might want a duvet to sleep on. The bunks are great and arguably more comfy, so kids slept well which is a win. Fans are available for the hot nights which was great as we had a few stinkers. Some of the doors are a bit sticky due to being a converted barn, so you do have to use some muscle to open and close. We used the lovely BBQ too which did a great job. The grounds are nice, with a lovely view - to sit under the trees on a hot day and drink a nice cold beer was very relaxing. The area is great - pink granite coast, vallee of saints etc, some decent chateau - all worth a visit and not far away. Local boulanger is great too and friendly. Some decent beaches too if its warm within a half hour. Thanks Les and Denise, we had a great stay.

Summary: Lovely welcome from Denise when we arrived and a welcome pack of essentials too! The gite is spacious inside with plenty of room to relax outside as well. We really enjoyed the private swimming pool everyday and also ventured out to some of the great beaches that are within a 30 minute drive. A lovely relaxing break in a good location for exploring Brittany. Thank you Denise! X

Summary: We chose well! First time in Brittany and booked again for 2017. Delightful! The cottage is really comfy and after a full day exploring, a perfect base. Loads to see, we just couldn't fit it all in in the two weeks we booked. Our hosts were delightful! Can't wait for visit number 2! J & A

Summary: We had such a lovely week at Pedernec. The gite was light, clean, spacious and well equipped. The pool and garden gave the whole family (two children 14 and 12 years) plenty of space to relax and play. The cats and chickens were a big hit. Such a quiet, rural location, but so easy to access the beautiful coastline and many interesting, historic towns. Too much to see and do in such a short time. Denise was very warm and welcoming. We would definitely recommend this holiday cottage.

Summary: Great base to explore Brittany. Stayed with my wife and 2 young children. Lots of space inside property and outside, very quiet and peaceful. Owners live in property next door who were very welcoming and on hand if you need anything (such as light bulb blown) but also very respectful of your privacy and hardly noticed them throughout the week. All facilities you could need in kitchen, bedrooms, private pool, bbq, seating at front and back of house to get morning/afternoon sun. Local village (pedernec) and town (guingamp) a 5/10 minute drive with bakery, shops etc. Property is 2 bedroom but as we were travelling with a baby the 2nd bathroom was big enough to put a travel cot in (also provided) with a towel in the window which blacked it out and made a useful 3rd room! Main bathroom had toilet/shower/bath/sink so didn't need to go in 2nd bathroom anyway. Would recommend and happily stay again.
